Sprint phone w/ QWERTY

I want a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and I would like it to be as slim as possible.

I was looking at the Q and Rumor and maybe even the Centro (too big?). Is there any new phones coming out that I might want to look at. What about the Q9c? I've heard some rumors about a CDMA Blackjack, any chances of that?

Good luck in the CDMA world.

the 2nd Gen Q would be better, i was not a fan of the first gen AT ALL (prob why it never really came out on GSM lol).

theres a 2nd gen blackjack coming out for GSM here, not sure of any CDMA version.

I like the 2nd gen Q... so i'm going with that recommendation. I hear the keyboard is excellent, but still doesn't look as good as my nokia , but looks great, and better than the samsung (i dislike samsung, phones anyways).

Q9c FTW

EDIT: the downside of the Q9H (GSM) was that the WM OS on it was so bland, basic, and boring. I'd imagine the CDMA to be similar, although who knows what the branding will be like. The blackjack had a much cooler looking interface.

Blackjack for Sprint is supposed to arrive Spring 2008. Rumor is that it will be an "int'l" version, which might mean that it supports GSM as well, replacing the IP830.

But otherwise, Q9c looks reasonable if you can wait a couple of months, else Centro, particularly if you like PalmOS (much easier to use, snappier response, with touch screen). Also Centro is/will be cheaper than the Q9c. It is a slightly different form factor, narrower more like a classic candybar phone than the Q's wide, wide slab form.

Go to a store and decide...

Any dates on when the Q9c should be out? I think I heard sometime in November. What will the price be around?

I think I have ruled out the Centro since it is a little too thick (but I haven't actually held it in my hand).

The Rumor is a toss up. I like the form factor, but the lack of EV-DO is the main thing holding me back. I don't live in an EV-DO area, but do travel to one from time to time and it would be nice for the fast access, but I am not sure if I need it.

Basically it's between the Q9c and Rumor. I just don't know if I need a smartphone and I really can't justify the price of a Q9C for purely EVDO, but I do like the Q9C's keyboard.
