Sync vs N75 or Razr2 V9

How do these phones compare?

Does the Sync take better pictures than the N75? What about reception and speaker volume?

I know the N75's reception is very good, and the same for the V9.

Any strong reason(s) not to buy a Sync? I do like the price, plus it has a microSD slot, and stereo bluetooth.

Thanks for your comments.

the sync is crap, its cheap, it never activates properly, i dread selling the samsung sync. the razr v3xx is leaps and bounds better than the sync so the v9 just kicks its *** allover the place. the v9 is faster than the n75 but not as full featured. the v9 probably has a better batt life than the n75

take the sync out and its a much more level comparison

V9 no question. The N75 is alright but it's a brick. I wouldn't want to carry that around every day, plus I would never buy a nokia. The sync is like a generation older than both of them. V9 has the best reception & speed of all , you get what you pay for.

Lol the sync is definately not the choice if the the v9 and n75 are the other options. n75 is s60 3rd smartphone, if you don't know what that means then get the v9.

The Sync pretty much does what it's supposed to. The camera is OK, I've found, in strong light. I'm happy with the volume, but there's a hack (described or linked here, check the archives) to bump it up if needed. If you get the microSD card, it's fun to grab short movies off archive.org, convert them to 3GPP, and watch them on the phone... gives you something to do when waiting for the girlfriend to get out of the clothing store.

I've had bad luck with Moto, and good luck with Nokia; but the Sync had an attractive price for the features, and I didn't see any Nokia that compared at the time.

You might want to check out the LG CU500 if it's available (the LG Trax is like $130 compared to $50 for the Sync).

What about the Sync's call quality?

I too am looking at a V9 or an N75. I basically need the phone for normal phone and texting use. I make my own ringtones, and distribute them to my friends through bluetooth so which phone do you recommend.

What other cool stuff can you do with these phones?

either will work for that kinda use, unless you prefer t9 then the nokia would do if the razr doesn't have it. also the nokia is a smart phone !

not so smart when it comes to battery life.

Is it really that bad? I read that it had 9 hours of mp3 playing time on a cnet review. How could it possible take more battery power to carry on a conversation?

I can't imagine the Sync even being mentioned in the same breath as the other two. I bought a Sync for my son early this year and one for my wife, too. They have both replaced them because of the "less than stellar" reception. Now they both carry a v3xx. While it may not have as nice of camera (maybe it does) or internal screen, it sure does make and receive calls from just about anywhere we want. That's something the Sync never could do. The other two are awesome.

Not even sure why there's a debate here, no question about it, V9.

Posted by: krylon..

And Amazon has the ATT V9 for $99 with a new contract..

I work for AT&T and have heard several complaints about the reception for the SYNC. The N75 is harder to use and has a short battery life.

The V9 is so new. My mgr carries one and a coworker. The reception is great and so is the battery life.
