Treo 680/750/755 or Blackberry?

Hi,

This is a great forum! I have done a bit of searching, but still have a few questions I would like to ask. My service with T-mobile is nearly up and I would like to upgrade my phone to a smart phone. However, I still can't decide between a Treo 680/750/755 or a Blackberry 8800/8820/8830, or Curve.

I do not mind switching my service provider. However, I'm kind of leaning towards sprint because my company offers us a 10% discount. On the other hand, I've heard that Sprint's service and customer service aren't really great....

If you had a choice between a Treo or the BB, which one would you choose?

My main uses would be-
* Upload some music from my PC
* Edit/create word/excel documents
* Watch some videos
* Schedule/calender

I really like the look of the Blackberry 88xx's. Yet, I'm a big supporter of function over form.

What do you guys think of the Curve compared to the Treo's?

Thanks for the assist,

Brian

Hmm. I'm quite certain that I'll be going with Verizon for my provider. I'm now torn between the Treo 700p and the BB 8830. Which one would you prefer? My main uses are still the ones listed above.

I also heard that Verizon will be releasing the Treo 750. Any updates on when it will be released? Is the 750 a major improvement over the 700p?

Is the battery life really as bad on the Treos that some report (one day before recharging)?

Thanks

The BB can't edit word/Excel documents. You will need a 3rd party application to do so. Check Handango.com for info on price, compatibility, etc. before you make the leap to a BB.

Remember the Treos are fairly old technology and the Palm OS is even older. I had 3 Treo 600s and a 650 and would never go back to one, nor recommend one.

Thanks for the info. Yikes, $100 just for that feature!

DubDub, is there anything in particular that will make you not go back to a Treo?

As I said, Treos are old technology and randomly reboot for no reason at all. Very typical of Palm and WM devices. I like the stability and usability of the BB much better.
