Im looking to by my father a phone for xmas. He's had his eyes set on a w880 ever his he saw one on a business trip to asia. But since he was really excited about it's size and not so much the brand I think the 6500 would please him equally since the dimensions are very similar. He currently uses a RAZR V3 so either phone will definately be an upgade.

Being a student myself, I dont have a whole lot of money to splurge on a gift so i want to buy a phone that he will get the most enjoyment and use out of. I have been able to find the w880 for $320 and the 6500 is $380 on Phonesourse.

I think he wants something that will look professional but is still cool and of course THIN. The w880 lacks the 850GSM Band which although is not required where i live(i've managed with a Euro Triband phone here) it is prefered as there is a significant improvement. The black/orange color scheme on the w880 also looks a too holloween like and way too flashy for work so thats out of the question. The keys of the w880 seem tiny and i've read they are painful after prolonged use. So atm im leaning towards the 6500 since it also looks the most professional and the metal accents are a very nice touch but it is also more expensive.

Also how is PhoneSource-USA? can anyone vouch for them? im worried about buying from sources other than Amazon as I bought a phone from a large eBay seller which didnt go very smoothly...would not like to repeat the experience but Amazon is far more expensive than PhoneSource's prices(and the 6500 is even offered yet).

Im open to recommendations of other phones and places to buy then(asumming prices are similar). Would prefer you have actual experience with the phones mentioned as user experience is the only thing i lack in my evaluations. Thanks in advance for all your help!

I'd say neither as I've had the w880 and they keys are small (although I got used to them over time)

If you read on gsmarena it says the 6500 classic has a very uncomfortable keypad as well

Thats really a tough one. He'd probably get more joy out of the w880 just due to the flash themes, walkman and general customizability (colorful themes etc).

But if I HAD to pick, I'd say w880 (although somewhat bias because I havent tried the 6500 classic yet)
