Lots of questions about the Tilt

Before the flames come in, I searched, and all I found were a bunch of confusing words being thrown around with no explaination.

1. The ATT Tilt and ATT 8925 are the same thing, right? If so, why does the 8525 cost more than the 8925?
2. What is the primary difference between the Tilt and the TyTn II? Just the fact that the TyTn II is unlocked and the ROM thats loaded onto it?
3. Where would be the best place to buy a Tilt without a contract? My contract lasts for another 1 yr 3 months, so I dont want to lock myself in to another one just yet
4. Kaiser is another word for the TyTn II, right?
5. How is the internet on this? Is it the real internet or the mobile internet...I want the real internet (which is why it is between this and the iphone for me)
6. How is the reception on this phone? This is one of the big reasons im switching from my blackjack.
7. Do you owners think that this is better than the iphone?

Those are all the questions I have for now....feel free to include anything else that would be helpful...Thanks HoFo!

The internet is full or mobile whichever site you choose to load up. I have the Ipod touch and would dread using an Iphone for texts to small on screen keyboard.

1. Yes. Need to ask AT&T for the second part.
2. Yes.
3. Only place to get a Tilt is ultimately thru AT&T or a dealer for AT&T. They'll sell them with or without a contract of course for diff prices. If you want any TyTN II, well, there are lots of places. I got mine from a reseller who frequents HoFo with the handle of MadMokeyBoy, who does a great job with these items.
4. Yes.
5. If you buy into hype, get the iPhone. The internet is the internet. How it's rendered on your device might differ. The iPhone does have a better rendering mechanism right now in its Safari borwser on it. It does beat the current available options on Windows Mobile platform for now. Better options for WM are forthcoming. But still will be hardpressed to compare favorably with Safari. Now, if you want to do lots of other things with your phone besides surf and listen to music, then the iPhone will lack. I.e. if you want to use 3G, then good luck getting the iPhone to do that. Speed (more than rendering) is a better indicator of the "real" internet IMO. I could go on for days on this. But I won't.
6. Reception is as good as any device I've owned, and I've owned lots of them. Can't say its noticeably better or worse than average.
7. Again, could go on for days on this answer. I own a TyTN II. That'll give you my answer. You posted this in a predominantly WM subforum of the AT&T section. You will likely get skewed answers at best, and flamed at worst. I previously posted my thoughts on this in this post: http://howardforums.com/showpost.ph...69&postcount=11

Also, I suggest you search this forum and read. There's TONS of info already posted on the answers to your questions and the rationale people have for getting the devices they have (like between iphone and Kaiser). you can also search the iPhone and the Windows Mobile forums on HoFo for even mroe answers.

Actually Safari is a great browser. Internet Explorer Mobile sucks.

I've been using Opera Mini 4 beta 2 for a week now and it's awesome. As fast as Safari. There are however a few quirks such as Cookie issues and the ability to display bold fonts and copy/paste text.
