How to get rid of the +1 from a local call

I cant seem to find the answer on the forums.. but does anyone know how to turn off the international +1 when making a local call.. I know therefore I would have to dial 1 before making a call when out of my local calling zone..

Have you gone into the phone app, do options>smart dialing and set up your area code, etc?

ya so what do i change it to??? theres no option to cancel it from putting the +1 infront of all number dialed from the phone book....

In the Smart Dialing menu set the Country Code field to "Unknown".

I'm not seeing a "Smart Dialing" option in the "Options" section of my AT&T branded Curve. Is it located somewhere else?

ITs not under the main "options", but "options" in the phone app itself.

Thanks!! That got it, although I still have the one in front of my number when I call my voicemail, and also when it lists "my phone number". Any way to change that as well?
