I'm a palm convert so excuse me for this noob question:

I have about 800 notes...My notes application takes 17 seconds to open!!!

Is this a problem with WM6 or specifically the TILT?

Is it a problem with the notes program?

Is there a faster notes program...i need a no frills program...i previously used the basic memopad on my treo650.

Overall my tilt is fantastic..but too sluggish to use at times... Has anyone used the Samsung i760...any comparisons on performance??

Mine opens in about 1/4 of a second. you might want to check into some registry hacks. I'm guessing the OS is getting bogged down with your hundreds of files

Any specific hacks... I've tried all the 'performance enhancing' tweaks of KaiserTweak without any major improvement. I tried doing a hard reset and just syncing my contacts and notes...still real slow..

hrmmm, well, i've never had that problem, but then again I dont have hundreds of files laying around. Maybe someone else can suggest some. There's got to be something to optimize windows ce for that amount of files. I know I did it on my 8125 when I had a couple hundred NES ROMs and it helped a ton. Do some searching, I bet you'll find something.

What do other people use for a "memopad replacement" on the tilt?

I came from a Palm environment to WM5 (8125) and used Phatnotes. With 400 plus notes same issue, slow.
WM6 (Tilt) has notes support but it is just as slow.

Newer version of Phatnotes 5 supports WM6 but dropped sync with outlook and all palm devices (migration).

not that anyone cares but i found the best solution...for my new samsung i760 (yes i'm a traitor and turned in my tilt..)

It's very fast and sync's with outlook unlike the other phatnotes version.
It handles my (now) 999 notes with ease.
