Best BT headset for Tilt

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

looking to finally buy a BT headset as i keep my Tilt on my desk in the "upright and unlocked position" and its a pian to speak on the phone this way so i keep missing calls.

i dont really have a budget, but would like to avoid buying the most expensive option unless everyone is like .. "there is really no comparison" (which can happen with technology)

i'm looking at something by pentach with noise cancelling technology but would apreciate yr thoughts on the matter.

thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.

I have the Jawbone and I can verify that the thing really does rock. The noise canceling is surprisingly excellent.
But, the tilt's volume control will NOT control the jawbone's volume (my Treo 750 has no problem.) so I have to use the volume button on the headset to adjust. And the Jawbone has only a 'volume up' button. It cycles volup>volup>volup>volup>max>min>volup>volup>volup etc..
I don't know how well it works with other headsets, but I'd suggest getting one with a volume up AND down button.

from what ive used the jawbone is the bees knees when it comes to bluetooth... im sure there is something from over seas that it hard to get and better but readily available jawbone is the best...

do u use the jawbone with yr Tilt, RF9?

it sounds like people who do risk going deaf prematurely.

i am a bit sensetive in this resepct having spent my youth stumbling out of night clubs at 7 am the next morning where i used to laugh at all the nerds with earplugs in their ears. (if i only knew then...)

anyway i will look into the jawbone since it really is the "bees knees" as you and Razr seem to agree.

Good today (10/24) - http://1saleaday.com/

Know on to Jawbone questions for those who have them and use them... How much real talk time have you had from the Jawbone? The earpiece is large, not that attractive, but does work well however I'm about to get my third Jawbone replaced based on pathetic talk time. Charged every day and the longest talk time I've managed is 1:25 (h:m), forget the claimed six hours, that's a pipe dream. The only thing I can think of is that all three of mine came from a bad batch, otherwise the claim of six hours talk/200 standby is blatantly deceptive.

Does yr jawbone volume control work both ways with the 8525?

suspect u only get 6 hours if u turn off the noise cancelling while on standby mode... but what do i know...

anyway 60$ for this is not bad. i will give it a try.

I am very interested in additional feedback on the Jawbone. If others have gotten over the talktime hurdle, I will buy one at this sale a day site.

$69.99 is almost 1/2 price!

Anyone have feedback on 1saleaday.com ?

Are they reputable?

I just picked up the new Plantronics 520. I'm very pleased with it.

you can find the jawbone at about $80 all day long. it's an official accessory from ATT (silver only). the black and red jawbones are harder to find for a low price.

the ONLY gripe I have with the jawbone is the ear piece... it sucks. the Jabra Eargel's fit perfectly over the jawbone's plastic lock-on cap though, so you can peel off the jawbone rubber and use a little glue and put on the Jabra eargel. (jabra eargel boom mics can be found on ebay for $5 new + ~$5 ship).

Jabra eargels + jawbone = PWNAGE!! if the eargel fits perfectly for you, you don't even need the jawbone's ear loop. however, I like the added security of havingthe earloop there.

Also, the jawbone adjusts volume automatically in relation to the ambient outside noise, so I've never had a need for the volume control. I have sensitive audiophile/musician's ears and find it not a problem at all.

Great, thanks for the opinion. One item you did not comment on is talk time...

Are you getting upwards of 4 - 6 hours as promised or 1:25 like Coka complained about???

Question, I assume its the same with the Tilt or 8525, (which I have) what is the quickest way to get your Bluetooth Headset connected? On my old Moto V551, It was a couple easy button clicks and they connected like that. (in under 10 secs, I had changed the V551's side button to take you to BT connection)

I've not found a speedy way to do it when I get in my car after work...only had the phone a couple days and obviously still learning it.

As far as BT Headsets, my wife got me last Christmas a cheap Plantronics 350....and I love it! (funtionally that is, the size is a bit large) I'm a long time rocker and have been in aerospace for over 20yrs, so my hearing is not the best, but this thing rocks! I can hear way better then I can through any phone speaker and over my M3's rather loud exhaust and Sound System. Easy to use with easy up/down volume control... And long battery life too. I use it every afternoon for my 35m freeway drive....since begining of the year I bet I've charged it maybe 6-8 times at most....

I hate to change directions a bit on this subject but I am looking for bt headset mostly for listening to music and calls while working out.

Thus, earbuds are a must and I want something for both ears (which eliminates 90% of bt headsets).

Anyone have a good recommendation that fits my needs?

h700 or 650 e are both on sale this week at staples, i just don't know which one will be best to work with my tilt. I have been told the h700 is bt 1.2 and so it may not do all the functions possible that the pl;antronics bt 2.0 can do such as voice dialing.
anyone have any suggestions as to which to get?
thanks

I have an H700. I can voice dial with it. I've been satisified with the size and operation.

Motorola H12 Pure. Amazing headset. Best BT I have ever used. And I have used a bunch of them.
