hey folks

ive personally have used the sidekick for about 3 years now since the sk2. the best thing that i liked about it was the keyboard, AIM program, and "cool" factor if you will. now that the LX is out, i dont really feel like dishing out 400 for a handful of upgrades. only thing that attracts me to the LX is the new screen and the mood lights on the corners.. so that brings me to the curve

a few of my friends have BBs and they have been tryin to get me to switch over. i have heard good things. i love the wifi support on it. only things i really use on my sidekick is the AIM, text, web, emails. if the CURVE can do all this better than the sk3. im sold

let me hear your opinions!

No way,I like bb for what they can do better like email and that's about it. If you like web surfing and text plus the best aim client ever on a phone then stick to the sidekick.

If you're heavy on Aim & Web Browsering .. sidekick
If you're heavy on E-mail, texting, and plan to use wifi (or @Home) .. blackberry

Now the blackberry has a program called JiveTalk(20$ for lifetime use). It's no sidekick aim, but it's pretty much the best data mobile phone instant messenger.
Also, blackberry has Opera Mini, which is much better then the default blackberry browser, but the sidekick still can browser better.

Choice is up to you. I had a sidekick 3 and a blackberry curve, I'm loving the curve now.

i just came back from a tmobile store to play around with the curve.. and it looks pretty sweet. its really light too. i did see a AIM program on the Curve. does each IM take away from a text message?

heres the thing. i dont want to drop 300-400 for a LX .. i do like the sidekicks but at the same time i want an upgrade. ill most def be back to the sidekicks once sidekick 7 comes out.. lol.. sidekicks are always behind on technology which sucks!

Amen to that statement, I too dont want to drop 400 on the lx with no "real" upgrades. imlooking at the curve myself.
How is web browsing at a disadvantage on the curve,cause i always felt the sidekicks was slow in general

Curve, SKLX has no WIFI but a NICE BIG SCREEN (CRACK ABLE)

IMHO the Curve has much better browsing than the SK. Also, Jivetalk rivals the SK IM apps pretty well. As far as the built in IM clients on the Curve; they're ok. They don't take away from texts, however, which is cool.

Im hearing that Jive talk with the BB pretty much then gives the sidekick a run on its best feature.

The sk OS, browser and look is not aging well... sk user since the B/W sk1 waited 21 hrs on a line in 05 for the SK3... Yes i was in the papers, and on dangers site

Along with my other friends and buddies. The SK gets 0 respect now... Im looking to get out of college soon, and it seems like the sk has become a teen toy. When i take my sk3 out i get the weird looks. I needed an adult phone- Iphone

Too bad this thread isn't called sk lx vs iphone. As for the sidekick being a "teen toy" I think its due to the fact that the o.s is locked and I'm glad it is because all the apps that are put out work correctly.

The lx is alittle more of a grown up sidekick,the iphone is not that much grown up than the lx. I've seen a lot of kids with iphones as well, I do like the curve but blackberry's aren't for everyone. The iphone is nice as well but it has no mms(which the lx now has) and it doesn't have a aim client. There are aim clients like apollo,jive e.c.t but they can't touch the sidekicks aim client,oh and btw apple hired workers from danger to develop a sidekick-like catalog.
