8525 Problem: USB Status Dialog

Just got an 8525 recently and decided to finally put it into service tonight.
After setting it up and putting on a fairly minimal complement of software, I discovered an odd annoyance.
Periodically, seemingly for no reason, the "USB Status: Connecting to Host" dialog with appear, stay on for about 2 seconds, and then disappear.
Currently on the phone I have WiFi and Bluetooth off. I connect it with my PC via USB cable. I use push email.
The appearance of the dialog doesn't seem to relate to anything that I can see going on that would need a network connection. At this point the only software I have installed is Pocket Weather, Phone Weaver, and Microsoft Theme Switcher.
Anyone have any ideas what's causing this or how to stop it?
