Krzr K1m Ringtones- Need Help

First off Im sorry if this post is not in the correct spot, but Ive been reading so much my head is spinning. I have a Krzr K1m and the latest version of Motorola phone Tools with the multimedia media option enabled. I performed the seem edit and am able to transfer MP3's to my phone in both MPT and Media Player 10, but I cannot get them to be a ringtone. I have even taken a suggestion of changing the file extension to cqp, but no go.
Id really like some help figuring this out using the apps I already have. Im sorry of I missed it some where but there is just so much info its hard to find everything. I have verizon using XP

why dont you transfer files via bluetooth? works perfectly for me, and i use the k1m as well
