Off-phone contact management without Outlook?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is there a way to manage our contacts off the phone (on my PC) WITHOUT installing Outlook? I -HATE- Outlook and have no need for it.. but the thought of having to manually enter 200+ entires makes me want to punch a kitten. OK, not really. Is there a way (hack, clever trick?)to export/import to another format? Where are they being stored on the phone? HTC s620 here.

Funny you should mention a website. I just ran across this the other day. I am not endorsing the product nor have I used it but it seems to do what you are talking about.

Doesn't Windows Live help manage contacts from windows live website that isnt dependent on outlook.

I still haven't found a way to do this? I guess I'm just amazed that there's 30 different IM clients, 5 Photo Contact systems, a bazillion crappy games, GPS systems, Emulators, and other various doodads, but no one has come up with a contact manage... When I re-installed the Roger's ROM I saved my contacts to the SIM card beforehand and forgot how ***** up they become when they get imported back to the phone. Now I have 200+ contacts broken up into 2 or 3 entries (mobile/work/home) and I want to cry when I think about having to condense them all by hand. Doesn't anyone else ever get frustrated with this? Of course, I have no programming skills so I'm just *****ing without being able to contribute.

I don't use Outlook because I'm not a windows user, but I use mail2web's client for contacts + tasks backups. http://live.mail2web.com It's still a version of outlook, but it's just online instead.

Thread settled down a while ago, but if you're still searching, then Dashwire is live and does offer free contact sync.

Also provides text messaging from computer, photo/video upload & social network sharing, visual voicemail, phone to phone transfer, status updates, and all sort of things. Oh yeah, we also backup your messages, photos, videos, and call logs as well.
