I figure it’s ok to rant about eBay since cell phone can be purchase from there. Onto the rant. I hate eBay or should I say crapBay with a passion. I will never to business on eBay again.
It all started in 2006. Someone was able to hijack my eBay account. Now I know some of you may think I fell for those spoof email and such, but I didn’t. I always and I mean always log into eBay by going to my bookmark. I notice when my account was hijack I tried 20 times to login eBay and it didn’t even attempt to lock my account. Most websites will have so many attempts before your lock your account. Heck even HoFo does it…..why can’t ebay.

The hijacker started listing WoW crap and got my account locked and gave me a nice bill of $86 for listing fees. I contacted eBay 4 times via email about the hijack and all the emails I receive were generic emails they send out to people. All the email stated that my account would be credited for the listing fees. That never happen instead they ended up billing my credit card on file. I disputed with my credit card company and somehow eBay convince them I made the listings (which I didn’t). I called my credit card company to continue to dispute the charges. So my credit card company told me to fax them the emails (from eBay) to the fraud dept. I fax them 4 times and my credit card company claimed they never got it even though my fax machine at work said the fax went through. When they finally got my 5 fax they said I was over the time frame to dispute the charges. So in the end I got shafted and I cancel that credit card. I told myself to stay away from crapBay.

So now a year has pass and I wanted to sell some of my old cell phones. I figure I will give eBay one more chance and I wanted to sell my AT&T 8525. I listed in the auction that I will only ship within the US. So some moron from Nigeria won my auction with Buy It Now. The best part was he sent me a spoof email of paypal claiming they paid for the item. The email said paypal is working with an escrow service. I had to ship the item first and then email proof of the shipment to the escrow service. Then the payment will show up in my paypal account. Sorry but I’m not a total du’mass. I sent eBay a message stating my problem and ask for a credit for the final fee. I just got an email from eBay and guess what?? It’s the same worthless email they send to everyone……“change your password”….“how to prevent your account from being taken over.” WTF I never said my account was taken over. Do they even have people working at eBay? You can’t even call anyone!! You can only do live chat which is totally worthless since they want to get you off as quickly as possible.

I had it with crapBay. They lost their chance with me. I know the second time may not be their fault, but they should of prevent people outside of the US from bidding on items being sold to the US only. All crapBay cares about is making money. They can careless about their sellers losing money thanks to those scammers. CrapBay can kiss my arse cause I will never do business with them again.

Sorry about the long rant. I’m just so frustrated. Thanks for letting me rant.

Did you state that you won't ship to places like Nigeria?

When I use ebay, I always state specifics.

-you ahve to have approved pay pal acc
-you cant bid to certain places outside US (most of the time i like to keep it in the states)
-pay within 2 days or your bid will null
-etc.etc.

Regards,
-K-

No I didn't state that on my auction. I should have done that. I didn't put anything that would indicate I would ship outside the US. Anyways that person was a scammer to begin with. I think they chose me since I'm not a big seller and hope that I would fell for their scam. I hate people like that. Oh well what can you do.

And what frustrates me is the lack of responce from eBay. They seem to careless about small sellers.

sorry bout your problems

but i think with the amount of people (millions) using eBay it may be dificult to answer emails properly...mostly automated.

you could easily had put in bold giant font "only ships in the usa" but it wouldn't matter to a scammer, they'll try to screw your auctions on purpose.

also you should select that "immediate payment required" when using paypal; that way they can't win the auction w/o immediate payment w/ a confirmed cc tied to there pp account.

eBay is cool, you just have to be aware of the losers and kids on there trying to run game on people.

That's a good idea. If I give eBay another chance I will do that so I can help cut down on the scammers.

Ebay is cool. I helped my dad sell his car on there and he buys stuff there all the time. Yes, you have to state the specifics and make it so that a person with 0 feedback can buy stuff from you. Most of the time Nigerians register and they have 0 feedback, also they say their name and stuff on their email like if the name they "say" theirs is like John Doe or something, their email would be something like johndoe@domain.com or some crap like that and the same goes for the ebay ID so you have to watch your *** there very carefully. Make sure you report stuff there too it wont help if you see a scam listing and don't do anything about it. Ebay is the best place to find cheap stuff, my Dad got his Treo 750 for 240 bucks now that is a good deal. So just watch your self there and be precautions and then you will be fine.
