which one do you think would be a best fit for a person who loves to .... surf the internet, myspace, aim, texting, pictures, movies, games, music .... basically i just want someone to compare the two i dont care whether lx or slide so anyone of them. ocean vs. lx. i am switching services from verizon so i could use your help thanks

Well as a sidekick user I can tell you this much,the internet pages look waaay better on the lx than on the ocean,the ocean does have a faster internet but just by a little.

The sidekick lx does have a myspace mobile app just like the ocean's,your going to be viewing it on the sidekicks new 3in wqvga screen,the oceans myspace app does have its bugs.

If your really into aim this is where the sidekick is unbeatable,the boy genious report dot com has put the iphone vs curve vs sidekick lx vs ocean and the sidekick lx came in first place. One cool thing about the ocean is that it allows file transfer,but the ocean has a been known to have a laggy aim client.

As for texting the lx now has mms,so you can now picture text and send audio clips to another phone. You can also get videos sent from another phone and play them on your lx but it gets compressed by the server in gif. Format and amr for audio.
The ocean can send video(something the lx can't,because it doesn't have a video recorder) pics,audio.

As for pictures the lx isn't much of an improvent over the sk3's 1.3 mp cam just better camera software and a waaay brighter flash. The ocean has a nice 2.0 mp cam and the pics look great.

As for movies and video,the sidekick lx doesn't support it at the moment(that's what danger is saying) so I don't know if an app or ota will get that done? The ocean can play movies via memory card. The ocean can also upload videos to youtube.

As for games,the sidekick can only get games via download catalog,and at the moment the catalog has few choices due to the new o.s build for the lx. I don't know how the ocean goes about games,so I don't know if it can get free games or only thru helio.

The music player on the lx isn't too bad,but isn't as loud as a lot of us would like it to be,you do get a 3.5 headset jack so support for nice headphones is there. The lx supports upto 4gigs for the memory card. I don't know how good the oceans mp3 player is but I know you can buy songs from helios catalog.

I think that mp3 players on phones are a waste of time,it kills the battery and your not getting ipod quality sound and u.I so I rather stick to an ipod.

I don't know how tmobiles network is where you stay,its really good down here,and I mostly get EDGE speeds. You might want to search in the helio forums to see how the network is where you stay at and if EVDO is in your area.

I can't speak for the slide because its not out yet and I never used it. I would keep in mind is the price on plans and data,I know the sidekick unlimited data plan is 19.99 now and there's tons of plans like m2m or my faves. I don't know how helio charges for voice/data. Both devices are aimed towards the same group of people,the lx is 299.99 on a 2 year contract and 349.99 on a one year contract 399.99 full retail. The slide will be 199.99 on a one year and 249.99 on a one year and 299.99 full retail.
