Couple of Questions Regarding EMail

I would like to change my default email address from *@tmo.blackberry.net to my personal email address. Is that possible and if so how?
Also when I do receive and email to my *@tmo.blackberry.net account it does not make a sound only the LED flashes. I have gone into the sound profiles and changed it from mute to medium but nothing. Am I missing something?
