Hi guys,

i came across this guide this morning and i did it successfully!!!

now my sound volume is amazing.

Also i used ibrickr to do it.

here the explanation :

goto ibrickr and the files systems. select the com.apple.celestial and click on ''download'' (option in ibrkr).

then its going to open the file location. just copy/paste with the zip file.

follow the instructions and ur done!!

p.s : i took volume 1.3 wich is amazing.

Is this in-call volume or all sounds (ringing)? ...I'm at work so modmyiphone is blocked (but HoFo isn't, hahaha) in case the answer is there.

Thread title:

[HACK] Volume/Speakerphone/Ringtone Loudness

Posted by: unistork

how do i delete the original files before i upload the new one? Because on ibrickr when i go to the file it only allows me to download the .plist and i dont have an option to delete it.

Posted by: dsigma6

unistork- back those files up before you delete them!! I use WinSCP for file browsing/deletion.

I actually think the volume is fine, but if it's not crackly, I'll give it a shot anyway.

Posted by: dhendriksen

Can anyone confirm whether there is an improvement on 1.1.1 or not?

Posted by: goldsaint

u dont need to delete files. Once selected with ibrickr, click on download and its gonna open the file directory. Just copy the zip file (which contains the mod files) and paste into this folder.

After all is done use ibrickr again to upload the 2 files as suggested in the guide. Reboot and voila! Better sound than a nokia!!

I was on conference call today using my iphone and it rocked!!!

are you sure this works with 1.1.1? the forums on modmyiphone.com express caution with 1.1.1....

yeah..caution with the latest release 1.3
but some members with 1.1.1 got it to work with 1.2

"3). Goto Settings > iPod > (switch off: Sound Check)"

So with thsi hack you can't use the Sound Check feature to even out mp3 volumes?

EDIT: damn this thing is awesome. I installed 1.2 first, found the dialpad too loud, and decided to go straight for 1.3, works like a charm (so far). i turned back Sound Check and it seems to work fine, so I'm assuming that that feature only has to be off during the reboot?

iBrickr doesn't work with 1.1.1, right??

Posted by: ~~Tito~~

Yes it does. It has been updated so it can work with it.

Posted by: dsigma6

Is it truly worth it? We're going to end up with "my speakerphone blew" and "my battery life is bad because my speaker is loud" threads, no?

Posted by: drporf

can anyone post the download (v1.3). I am a member of mmiphone but can't seem to download the file from their site. thanks

Posted by: XanderMac

well, according to my db meter, no difference in speaker or earpiece volume what so ever. Either iPod, speaker phone or ringtones.

System sounds ie. Keyboard clicks, lock etc are the only thing registering as louder.

Posted by: saleengtroush

just did the 1.2 and it works great !

Posted by: dhendriksen

Is anyone noticing a difference using 1.1.1?

I know this is off subject but is that true what it says on your siganture djdownhill? "HoFo So-Cal Meet Nov 17th Hooter's Pasadena!" because I love hooters and if this is real I will be there. LOL (not unlocking iPhones but showing mine off) LOL

Posted by: kloquewerk

mmmm hooters

Posted by: CyniKal.Mindset

this didnt do a thing 1.2 made the dial pad loud and thats it...1.3 didnt do a bloody thing

Posted by: kloquewerk

and just for the record...ibrickr DOES NOT work with 1.1.1 as someone above stated it did

Wondering the same thing

Posted by: dsigma6

I'm gonna stay where I'm at. Even if the people who couldn't get it to work definitely did it correctly (version-wise), I still would rather not waste the time.

Posted by: goldsaint

all u need is makin it happen...
i dont get why it doesnt work with some people...

it did work for me and some others.
i have week 37 ver 1.0.2

volume 1.3

Posted by: GeeK.dLL

Looks like people are having success with iVolume v1.3 on firmware 1.1.1 and 1.0.2

Posted by: kloquewerk

tested on my 1.1.1 with iVolume 1.3...no difference at all

Posted by: goldsaint

use winscp to delete the files before uploading.

people using ibrick with 1.1.1 cant copy/paste and will feel no dif.

Posted by: chinese_fury

Windows Vista OS & used ibrickr with 1.0.2 fw and installed iVolume 1.3
Works fantastic, i can now actually hear people thru the handset, while not having to be in a sound proof room. I actually for the first time hand to turn down the volume during a call, this for me is the first time since owning my iphone at launch day.

Posted by: Toaster

I personally didn't feel it made a big difference. I'm sure it made some, but I guess I just STILL can't hear the iPhone ring! oh well - I give up.........I'm deaf.
