I've got to upgrade STAT: 3G Worth Waiting For /Tmo

Work, hooray, has decided that I need to join the crazy and be able to access my email 24/7.

I'm mulling, erh, let's be honest = obessing = over 3 phones at the moment. Please forgive any terminology errors I may make. This conversation seems WAY easier to have in real life.

1. Blackberry Curve / Tmo
2. Tilt / unlocked
3. Wing / Tmo

Here are the stipulations:
1. Work is buying the phone, up to $400, so cost is not a huge factor.
2. I have Tmo service, but can flash Tilt should I get it
3. BB Curve, work endorsed as they're all on Crackberries. Anything not BB I have to support myself.
4. Presently have the DG Razr, (love it), and I carry an Ipaq PDA when needed for my calendar, documents (MS Word/Excel), movies when flying, music, etc
5. I am with Tmo, will not cancel contract and have no intentions of leaving this carrier no matter what the phone deal.

My questions are specifically these:
1. BB Curve has wi-fi, could this enable my Ipaqto get on online, so that I'd only have to carry it for traveling or when needing to access MS Word/Excel, movies, etc?
2. Wing vs. Tilt? (not factoring in the flashing work to get Tilt over to Tmo or the HTC standard set) - though I think Tilt trumps Wing in near every facet.
3. Is 3g worth waiting for on Tmo? Right now I'm in LOVE with the Tilt, though not looking forward to flashing it, though I've flashed phones in the past for Tmo - however, I read that even though Tilt is 3G phone, it won't be compatible with Tmo 1700mhz (Puleeze release already) and that Tmo will release their own version.

So, am I looking at the Tilt b/c it's new and flashy? Or Should I wait, get something practical like the BB Curve (I Love the GOLD) or Wing until 3G is released? If I get BB Curve, I'll likely still carry my PDA around on business trips for movies, documents, note-taking with my bluetooth keyboard, etc but if I upgrade to Tilt, essentially it'll be DIA when 3G is released and I'll have to get a new PPC again anyway.

Or, do I remove the need for carrying both, get a Wing and jones for the Tilt.

Or, do I get the Tilt, flash it over, love it, then get a new phone when 3G is released?

Is 3G worth waiting for?

If T-Mobile works for you right now, wait for T-Mobile 3G along with its 3G phones. The appropriate unlimited data plan for the Tilt with AT&T will set you back $40/month. I hope T-Mobile would keep the 3G data plan pricing the same ($19.99 with hotspots) or increases to just $30.

I would get the BB 8320 for a trial but I wouldn't touch the Wing.

Aye, I've not heard thrilling things about the wing. That said, if I go Tilt - I'll flash it over to Tmo now, though it won't be using 3G. I'll still get the Tmo data plan for less than AT&T.

Thanks for the tip! I'm fairly certain 3G is worth waiting for - watch it come out next month after I upgrade. /wince
