Here I am stuck in Canada. I will be down in San Francisco in late November. I am using a Pearl right now and am liking it, but want something with wifi. Data is WAY too expensive here!! I was thinking about an iPhone or a BlackBerry Curve 8320 or maybe a HTC with windows mobile 6. I am hoping to be able to read (and maybe modify) word and excel documents. And of course phone, sms, email and surf a little. I don't use a lot of data right now on my pearl. I just got the data plan, but I don't think I will go over the 7 MB per month that I signed up for.
What do you all think? Which is the best bet?

You will need a 3rd party app to edit word and excel on the BB. Is the iPhone wifi?

iPhone is wifi. The BB 3rd party app for word and excel is somewhere around the $200 mark. kinda pricey i think.

Anything with Windows Mobile will be excellent at editing Office documents if that's a priority for you, but normal phone functions can be a pain. The iPhone can't edit whatsoever, only read them from emails.
Maybe a Tilt from AT&T if you can grab one from an AT&T store for a decent price?

Is the Tilt a HTC tyTn? IT looks like it from the picture on the AT&T site

It's the Tytn II.

HTC TyTN II gets my vote for having the best office editing suite.

the touch is coming to Rogers soon. Probably later in November. Now what? The TyTn II is pretty thick isn't it? I have seen the TyTn in a rogers store. But not the II. The other problem with buying from a ATT store is unlocking it. Lots of info on unlocking the iPhone but not sure how to unlock the htc.
