Sanyo SCP-7050 USB driver?

I have purchased a USB cable for my Sanyo SCP-7050 (on the Canadian Bell Mobility network), but the drivers that came with it do not work. I want to be able to use BitPim or equivalent with the phone to change it to not repeatedly prompt me to allow network access (currently the only options the phone offers are to ask each time or never allow).

I have tried Sprint Connection Manager 043 and 039. Those drivers install correctly, and allow the phone to be plugged in without prompting me to install a driver, but SCM can't find the phone (presumably because it's a Bell phone) and BitPim can't detect it automatically or using any of the many manual settings I tried.

I also tried a trial version of DataPilot 5.2.0, but its driver's don't support the Sanyo SCP-7050. Their support tells me 5.3.0 supports my phone. Has anyone had success with a newer version of DataPilot and a Sanyo 7050? If so, could you use it or BitPim to change the _policy.txt file (assuming that's what it has)?

Since the phone wasn't released until mid 2007, I suspect I need a driver more recent than that. The latest Boulder Mobile drivers for XP have file dates from 2004.

Update:

After finding a discount code, I purchased the latest version of DataPilot (5.4.1). When the phone is plugged in, the drivers install without problem and DataPilot says it detects a Sanyo SCP-7050. However it then says it cannot connect to the phone.

When I contacted DataPilot tech support, I was told they don't yet support the Bell Mobility version of the phone (even though their support earlier told me it would work with my phone).

Both BitPim 1.0.2 and QPST can detect an unknown phone once I point them to the right port. (I got the MSL from a person at a Bell Mobility store.) However neither can access the phone's file system.

I'm guessing the phone's filesystem is locked. Using the MSL, I tried some of the codes here, but didn't know what, if any, option could unlock the file system.

Any suggestions?

Any luck changing the network access prompt to not ask every single time? it's driving me nuts! Thanks

Me too. No luck so far, so I've asked on the Bell Mobility forum.

FYI, for signed applications you have the choice to always allow or only ask once per session.
