My wifes uncle lives over in Germany. Last month while he was here he brought me a T-mobile Germany Nokia 6280. Since I have T-mobile Pre-pay I thought It would be as simple as inserting my sim and go but it comes up wanting a code. So I haven't messed with that do to not wanting to lock it perminant. My questions now

Does T-mobile Germany charge to unlock the phone? If so how much? It was used. He got it at the Cell Phone repair shop he works at. I really want to use it here in the states. Thanks for any replies.

I have T-Mobile Germany as well. I can tell you T-Mobile Germany will charge Euro 99. for the unlock codes. That is right about $130 US Dollars at the current exchange rate. You may be able to find someone that can unlock it cheaper, but I haven't been able to find anyone for my Nokia E65.
