Hi I am having real hard time to connet to my iphone through WinSCP. Please help me out.

I am following all the steps. I have community Sources installed, have BSD and open SSH on iphone (which I bought unlocked from someone, it is new OOB with firmware 1.1.1)

Now I want to install some themes and ringtones and some other customization for which I need to access file sturcture of my iphone through winSCP 4.0.4 but every time I am getting the same error.("NETWOK ERROR: CONNECTION REFUSED"). I am using root and alpine as username and password.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Hi Guys, I managed to get into my iphone using winscp and ssh. When I looked into the library there was no Ringtones folder. I created a 'Ringtones' folder and copied a short mp3 file to the folder and can see it in there with winscp. However when i go to settings>sounds>ringtone i dont see the file there.

Am i missing something?

Thanks for your help

You need to rename the ringtone from .mp3 to .m4r before you dump it in the folder

Thank you, I'm almost there now...
I remaned the file and it shows up but it play silent. It is a short mp3 <15 seconds. Thanks

thanks i got it now. For some reason when i renamed the mp3 file it would only play silent. I fould the m4a file created by itunes and renamed that to m4r and iit worked like a charm. Maybe I was mistaken but should i have been renaming the mp3 file itself? or was that my mistake? just curious

You did it right by renaming the file that iTunes converted. Glad to hear it works for you now
