I logged in this morning to see the Curve refurbs are now available for $119 or $69 AC for new customers.

We use 8700's at work and some use Curves now. I think the keyboard is just as good as the 8700's. But, not to be considered a successor to the 8700's thumb board design.

Any of you have an opinion on this refurb?

I have purchased refurbs in the past and could not tell them from a new one. They also have a warranty. If I wanted one I would buy it.

I just got my 8300 refurb last week. So far, I'm very pleased with it. I can't tell it from new, and it works great.

I didn't bother to check the firmware because the first thing I did was update.

Sorry. This is my first post on howard, but what is blue and where can I get a BB Curve refurb for TMO for $119? I bought a pearl to replace my 8700g this past spring because I missed the camera on my Nokia 6620, and now I'm really missing the full keyboard.

If by Blue, you meant ATT/Cing I just found that one. Not worth canceling my TMO contract and paying whatever ATT's charging for BB plan w/voice.

Blue=ATT. It's just internet jargon for the company. The deal seems to be only available for those with ATT accounts or new contracts. You can not purchase it (refurb) without being a member.

but i got mine for free, because I had a special 50 dollar off rebate from AT&T.

I have heard its an awesome phone, but i just decided i might really want the Q9, so I might return it.

We will see what happens.

I ordered mine tody! And I just got confirmation that it has shipped. Wow! They are fast. I wasn't expecting it to be processed so soon due to the holiday weekend. But I'm not complaining.

Too bad FedEx isn't delivering on Monday.

I just snagged a refurb Pearl myself. I liked the Verizon Pearl and want to give this one a shot too. Too good a deal to pass up. I have ordered refurbs before as well and all of them have looked new.

One thing I'd like to see is AT&T branding... I wonder if these will have Cingular branding on them.

The coupon code for $50 off is WLS50. The coupons are stackable. So if you come across a $10 off coupon, that would be $60 off.

woot! the FedEx man dropped off my Curve today!

i got it a day early. i love FedEx.

it's on the charger right now. however, i think the battery was already charged because when it automatically turned on after placing the battery inside, the battery indicator was like 4/5 full. i'm charging it anyway just to make sure.

it's beautiful. AT&T branded. a little heavier than my Pearl, but feels nice in the hand. trackball feel is good, but it feels like it sits in more than the Pearl's trackball. so far, these are my initial impressions.

Just ordered one for my wife today. She's wanted one of these for a while, and couldn't pass up the $29 deal. I almost picked up a Curve or a Pearl for a backup phone, but I don't want to abuse the system. Plus, I don't know how much I'll use since I haven't put my iPhone down yet!

Received my device a few minutes ago. This is difference is radical in comparison to WM5. The device is clean as if it were never used to begin with. Fully charged as well. The fw version is v4.2.289 for those wanting to know.

The device did not come with a belt clip though.

yeah, i don't think any of the BB's come with a clip/case, except for the 8820 & 8800.

mine had the same version as yours - 4.2.2.89 (platform 2.4.0.39), but i upgraded it to 4.2.2.166 (platform 2.4.0.73)

Any recommendations on Screen Protectors? Usually get mine from PocketPCTech.com and I don't see 8300 series listed there.

These just come up from time to time, and we learn of them when someone posts about it. I guess logging into Premier and checking a couple of times a week is the best way to catch them.

Ya I almost snagged a Pearl/Curve from Premier a month ago when they were $30. Now on Premier they are $175 w/plan, and $275 w/plan (+$100 MIR) respectively. I'll also be keeping an eye out for the refurbs to come back again.

i was about to buy Red Curve 8310 for 300 something but then work came up...when thought checkout next thing you know Timeout. So i start over again and notice 8300 refurb for $30. WHAT A STEAL

Yeah I just placed an order too. It'll make for a great backup phone to my iPhone. I'll unlock it when it comes too.

I'm sure in about 6 months they will have no more 8300 refurbs through XBM and their warehouse and will probably replace them with 8310 eventually anyways...

Either way, it's a steal!

Does anyone think the red pearl looks really "not pretty"? I wish it looks like tmobile's version at least. BTW, it is not for me, but for my aunt.

Do you have to sign I new 2 year contract? I want to pull the trigger on this deal but I do not want a new contract, just trying to do a upgrade and not change my plan. I talk to a CSR and she said that I have to sign a new contract. But, went I put the phone in my cart and go to check out and read the small print I see no were that I have to sign a new contract.

So who right the CSR or the website.

The red Pearl is pretty to me. I own one. But then again, red's one of my fav colors.

Full data on the bb doesn't do much for you without email, I wouldn't get too excited. The BB browser is pretty slow. Just pony up for the bbplan.

You ain't lying either. It's very slow with the improper plan and not all that great with the BB plan IME. But, having a PDA data plan is useless really with the BB. You definitely need a BB plan, and that gets expensive.

still just a backup and will never be my primary, honestly the phone gets great reception but its still a blackberry and i'm already getting the whole been there done that feeling

I spent $299 on mine too, but I got most of that back by selling my Blackjack for $185 and the $100 rebate card from AT&T. I wouldn't mind getting a refurb as a backup until they come out with a similar model with gps, wifi, and 3g technology combined or they get the 8310's refurb price.

It's interesting on how the price fluctuates day-to-day... I got a Curve yesterday and they were $29.99 and today they're up to $49.99.... still a great deal though. Hopefully mine will get here by Wednesday. Never had a BB before so I have some learning to do.

Premier doesn't have the refurb 8310 yet, but the original site does have the refurb 8310 for $99.99 in red and platinum. I may get the 8310 as a refurb for backup. Or I may just get a prepaid visa with $50 in case they do get the $29.99 refurb 8310's. I like the red one...it's awesome!

Just upgraded my 8300 to a crimson 8310 on premier, they are selling them brand new for 150 before 50 mir. Premier also has the refurbs up for 100 with no mir as well but for the same price after rebate I decided to go new. Can't wait to finally have GPS!
