My Tilt would not turn on this morning...

I tried to hit the power button to turn it on, since I have it on power saver mode, but it wouldn't turn on. I even held in the power button to try and turn it back on, and that didn't work, either. It took for me to take out the battery and put it back in for it to go on.

I tried calling myself to see if my phone would go on, but it didn't. It rang 4 times before going to voicemail, as if my phone was still on (cuz if it was off, it would have gone straight to voicemail). I found out later that I had missed a call, and wonder now how many others I might have not gotten because of this.

Am I to expect this kind of thing to randomly happen? I was scared that I might have to return my phone, because I LOVE IT!

Anyone ever have that problem?

So did you actually get the phone turned back on, your post wasn't too clear about that. If so, what kind of a charge was left on the battery. I know that if I fully charge my Wing and turn off the phone function before going to bed, I'll wake up with only 30% left on the battery . So now I either leave the phone function on too or just turn the Wing off all together.

It could be that your battery drained to the point of a shut off.

I had just taken it off the charger this morning, because it was down to about 10% before I plugged it in last night.

I ended up having to take off the battery and put it back in before it would turn back on...and the battery was at 100% when I checked after being able to turn it on.

Hmm, any newly installed 3rd party apps? Otherwise, you may need to take it in if it continues.

i had the exact same issue, along with someone else on the forum

did you have windows live installed? that might be causing issues...

while my phone would not turn on, i did notice that the green light still blinked as if it was still operational, so on one occasion i called it and the phone that i was calling with ran as if my tytn II was operational but the tytn II did not do anything, no ring, no screen coming up, nothing. so after i took the battery out and rebooted i did get the missed call notification....

so the phone appears to be operational, just not responsive to the buttons and the screen does not come up....something odd is going on...

Exactly. Um, I installed Google Maps (does that install Windows Live automatically?). Could that be the problem? (Going to read the other thread.)

i dont think that it will uninstall windows live automatically. they are two separate programs and you have to uninstall each of them...

well, i cant do any more testing until i get my replacement, but i sure would like to know if yours does it again now that windows live is uninstalled...so keep an eye on it and let us know what happens

Well, I've uninstalled Google Maps, but I don't think I have Windows Live installed. I'll post again, if I have the same problems even after uninstalling GM.

you know, i've been thinking about our issue....

the phone has been out for several months now and im sure there are thousands and thousands of handsets that have been sold.

im also sure that you and I are not the only ones who have installed windows live or google maps, i mean they seem to be standard/well-known applications nowadays.

so having said that, i looked through the forums and did a search with google and i would have thought that more people would be having this issue if indeed it was a bug with windows live or google maps... but there is no indication that of that. so what are the odds that your phone and mine really maybe do have a defect? after not finding anybody with the same issue it was my first thought that my unit was defective and that's why i sent it back for a replacement. i even posted on mobileplanet forums and looked through their HTC section and no mention from anybody having the same issue.

so what do you think? you think there really is a bug with the software or maybe we were just unlucky and got a glitchy unit?

I SO hope my unit isn't defective. LoL I would hate to have to send it off, but I haven't had any other issues with it since, so I'm crossing my fingers.

I'm going to give it a few more days...a week or two, even. I don't use the GPS that often, so I'm not stressed about uninstalling Google Maps right now.

Are they sending you a new phone, or trying to repair yours? Did you buy it from an AT&T store and did they have to send it off? I'm the type of person that will take it back into the store and ask for a new one, instead of having this one "sent off." LoL Then again, I don't know exactly what they do with them once it leaves our hands...
