guy at my work trying to sell a 8525 cell phone, wants 50.00 for it, only the phone, nothing else. looks in mint shape, sounds too good to be true. wondered how i could find out if its stolen/reported missing?

also, if it wont power up now (he says dead battery) and its broken, is it alot of money to get fixed? or is it covered under warranty, or warranty is only is purchased new? thanks, any suggestions appreciated, rach

You could purchase a cheap mini usb charger to test the phone before you buy it. It does sound cheap but maybe he just needs the money really bad.

ill give you a 100 for it as is

Considering you can get a brand new 8525 through cingular, and some of the other retailers (amazon etc) for $100 (although you will still have to sell your soul for 2 years to ATT), $50 does not seem out of the question for a used device. Just make sure its working before giving him any money, a usb cable is $5 these days, it will charge off of any computer, so try it before you buy it.

Suck it up. Buy it. Worst case you can sell the parts. Anyway you will probably make even more of your money back or have a real nice phone!

If its water damaged don't bother.

Sounds like a warranty exchanged phone if it doesn't come with anything.

Worse case scenario I'll take the phone for parts for that price as long as the screen isn't cracked.
