Battery life problems

Hi all. Is it me or do the vast majority of mobile phones always seem to have battery life that is around 4 hours (talking time) per charge? I was wondering if manufacturers ever have considered making batteries that have greater capacity. The batteries seem to always be enough to run for around 4 hours and it would be something truly exceptional to see times like on my BlackBerry Curve 8320 (5 hours on standard battery, at least 10 on the 2600-mAh third-party battery I have). With 3G around now, talk time is even lower - batteries are being made with greater capacities now, but they last 4 hours on the 3G networks now. I seem to get the impression that manufacturers can make a battery that lasts, say, 12 hours talk time in the same form factors but don't want to put any extra R&D money out for battery life that many users won't tap unless they're on a trip or something.
Anyone else here fed up with battery life on phones?

Batteries are definitely getting better. Have you noticed that talk time stays about the same but the number of things phones do keeps growing? That's where the extra juice is going.
