Question...

the army has issued out 8700g's to many high ranking people. well one came to me today (to admire my curve) but also to ask how to text...now the curve is my first berry but i felt comfortable using the 8700g navigating with the scroll ball and everything but wait, is it possible the army had taken out the option to text message? she complained that she didn't see where she could do it and i mean, i went to the menu under messages and i saw compose email and bla bla bla but nothing for text...do companies do that sometimes?

if the 8700 is connected to a BES, and the army's BES policy prohibits texting, then yes, there would no texting

WTF WTF, man

Security is paramount. Can't do anything unless the BES says you can.

I read recently that the military cracked down on Blackberry usage with über-restrictive IT policies.

It's gotta be a BES restriction. I never had a problem when I was using an 8700g.
