How can I transfer BES account to a new 8700?

My apologies if this has already been posted; Im not really in a position to search as Im getting busy @ work.

The Question: How can I transfer my BES account on a new BB? Do I just need to swap SIM cards - or does this call for something more?

You need to go through blackberry enterprise activation. This requires work on the blackberry and the server end of things. On the server side its simple, on your end will take some time depending on the size of your mailbox.

Put your SIM card in the new device, assuming the SIM is compatible with the new device.
Install/Upgrade BB Desktop manager software; provided with new device.
Plug the BB unit into your PC with the provided USB cable.
Sync.
New PIN will be assigned as the new device.
Enjoy.

- So if you do it through the desktop manager software it will change the device pin on the BES? and all activation settings will be transfered? What about old mail?

No it wont.... You need to ask the it department to just reactivate you under than phone. Which will be your email address and password

Clarification:

The easiest way to swap devices is through the method I described above. If you want to transfer files, settings, etc., you will need to back up your current device and restore those items to the new device using a program like BB Backup.

You can't change device PINs, but you can change the PIN assigned to your BEST account via the method posted above.
