Charger Problems - Tilt/Kaiser

I have two different chargers that won't work with Tilt/Kaiser. I have a Belkin Dual Charger and a Garmin charger that won't charge the Tilt/Kaiser. Even if my old 8125 charger doesn't work. Only the actual charger I got from ATT works on the unit.

Anybody have any ideas why or what other 3rd party chargers I can use? I was hoping that my existing 8125 charger would work with the Tilt/Kaiser but it doesn't.

Just a note:

I swapped out one of USB to Mini USB cords on the Belkin and it works fine. Seems that cord is a piece of crap. My charger for 8125 still doesn't work.

My Garmin charger - rated 1amp - works just fine.
Check specs of your charger. Tilt requires 1amp, and, I believe, 11 pins in the usb connection.

What Garmin do you have? I have a Zumo 550 and that thing is a beast. I'll check the Amps when I get home but I thought it had enough. It may be the pins.

The included charger is 1amp. I know many mini USB chargers are .5 amp.
HTC says that lower usb chargers will trickle charge vs. the included which will rapid charge.
You can tell the difference because the included wall charger wil not turn on the backlight when conneced. But a USB trickel charger willl cause the backlight to turn on.

I don't know what the difference is other than 1amp vs .5 amp.

You can get the EXACT replacement for the HTC supplied 1amp charger for less than $8 at Mouser Electronics. I purchased a few of them. Cheap enough to have a few on hand.
