Hey people,

I've been reading this forum for a while...everyone's pretty helpful which is awesome. I was wondering for those who have the 8100, have you guys been able to download ringers and images through snapmedia? Thanks.

just got it to work here is what you do, open up your snap media configuration settings. and it should look something like this. add what i put an arrow next and go to file, save. then plug your phone up, and start the program on your computer. thats how mine worked.

I know I'm missing something stupid, but the only thing I can get to happen is reading the contact list. Do you have to be under the Tools/Extras, PC Sync menu to be in PC Sync mode? All I can tell right now is that it doesn't use the same method that the 4900 uses.

on the 8100 , you dont have to put it to sync mode, it automatically connects. but, it seems that if you got to the reading contact list, it should work. good luck with it.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a shot when I get home, but it kept telling me to ensure the USB cable was connected to the handset when I tried to send a file.

I wish it was that easy. Mine connected just by changing the above .ini file, but I was unable to upload midi files as ringers b/c SnapMedia kept asking to put the phone in PC Sync which obviously can't do. The Sanyo phone manual makes mention of some software called Multimedia Master to upload ringers. I wonder if they've dropped support for SnapMedia.

MM? That's the software I had with my 5000... lol.
What page did you see that on in the manual?

Page 65 in the Sanyo 8100 PDF.

Nope, even after modifying the INI file, trying to export a midi or picture still pops up the prompt asking me to put the phone in PC Sync mode.
