ok.... i have taking a peek in to most forum around www and everybody is having problems with the loading of the ringtones, since iTunes updated and fix the bug, yasterday... i download iPhoneRingToneMaker and start looking at the process, notices some stuffs so heres some information to share

i successfully uploaded MP3's as my ring tone, and it plays it, and obviously it works when someone calls me.

here how it goes....

when i download IPRTM.... i upload take my free 3 ringtones and upload them...

then i start looking for m4r files on my computer, no luck didnt fine, why? couse IPRTM doesnt make m4r files, it just uploads mp3 files to the iPhone, so...

then i download iPhoneBrowser (since im a PC user), and start looking for the files....

and then i found them, under var>root>Media>iTunes_Control>RingTones

there 2 files from each ringtone a m4r file and the mp3 file
the m4r file is just a trash file, but you need it so the file would appear on the ringtone lib,

you can upload file with long names im not sure whats the limit, but i mange to get around 30 chr

theres another mod on the phone under var>root>Media>iTunes_Control>iTunes
on the file Ringtones.plist... its a list created with the ringtones under Ringtones folder just mentioned, heres the catch, i think theres still one more file to mod, but i still can find it, BTW im not much a apple user so thats why i dont get it..... but i just the "STRINGS" under the list that where already created by IPRTM... when i created new strings, i coulnd get it to work, the file appears but it doesnt play.

so basicaly heres everything in a short way

Upload MP3 Files to Folder (i managed to get a 320kbps file so i guess theres no enconding limit, and get around 30 chr)

var>root>Media>iTunes_Control>RingTones

and upload a second file with the same name just ext m4r (take a empty .txt and rename it to .m4r) to the same path

replace the files names on the Ringtones.plist (asssuming you already use IPRTM to make the list)

and thats all.... i know there would be a somebody that would take the other part of this "tutorial" if you could call it that way.... but im just sharing some information so that we could get some free ringtones since i think its to ******** what appel its making, and some other apps, every other phone doesnt charge for ringtones, why should apple?

Ok stupid question, but ive been looking all morning for the answer....

How can I browse my iPhone from my mac (so I can get into the root and media folder)?? I am running 1.1.1 and i already jailbroke it.

with iFuntastic, i think the least version its 2.5.0.....

Have anyone tried iTune 7.5 on phones that has the patched Mecca framwork file? I uploaded the patched file as per the iPhone elite team method and the ringtones works fine. But I am worried that with the 7.5 updaqte that is going to stop working too. Can any one confirm this?
