New record on how fast one can kill the tilt battery

Got my tilt over 2 weeks ago. Ive been draining the battery down to 5% or below every night before charging it overnight. The battery lasts a bit longer now than when I first got it. I believe the battery has been conditioned even though I still think it'll hold more charge in a couple of more weeks.
So I took a trip to LA today. Had google map loaded with location tracking and Satellite view, screen brightness at 100% because it's a sunny today. 50% of the trip was in EDGE area. 5% were in 3G. I'm guessing UMTS area. 45% were in HSDPA area. No calls, Wi-Fi turned off, BT turned off. My battery from fully charged to 10% in 2 hours 40 minutes. Totally dead in less than 3 hours. This has got to be a new record or something.

Looks like it is time to by a hicap (high capacity) battery. I just picked up a 3000mAh battery for my HTC Tytn. I love it. 3 times the life. I can run TomTom Mobil for over 8hrs straight and still have plenty of juice left at the end of the day. If I am just using the phone for regular day to day stuff, it usually lasts 3 days. There is a brief discussion about it here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...d.php?p=1649001

3 Days for a high capacity battery! That SUCKS! What kind of battery life does the phone get with normal use?

About 4hrs of heavy use, 12hrs with moderate use. With the stock battery, if I pulled it off of charge at 5:30am to took off to work, by 5:30pm I would be down to 30% battery life sometimes even less.

You're killing your battery, if you didn't already know.

a) Lithium batteries don't need conditioning, you're only calibrating the phone to recognize when the battery is gonna die, and building up capacitance in the battery at the same time. You don't want increased capacitance.
b) You should only drain down to 40% life if you want to keep using that battery for any amount of lifetime. Hybrid cars do that to keep the battery lasting over 200K Km and years of use. You can too.
c) Modern batteries don't like deep cycles, and the built-up capacitance just increases internal battery heat which also reduces charge capacity and efficiency of how long you can use it.
d) Get a mobile charger!
e) go read up on how batteries work
f) cool if this is really what you want

Yes I know how batteries work. I also know the difference between hybrid car's nickel metal hydride and modern lead acid that don't like to be deep cycled. I do have a mobile charger. I didnt expect the low battery warning after only 2:40 of useage. besides I'm getting this phone exchaged with a new one along with a new battery. When the 3200mah tilt battery and cover became available I'll be the first to get it. The 2700mah out on ebay is not worth it. It's still too small. I wish they would make a 5200mah battery and cover.

Just exchanged a new tilt with new DynaPak battery. This battery seems to last ALOT longer than the Samsung battery.

i think it would be better just to carry a mobile charger its cheaper, and plus you dont have to spend $60+ for a new battery to make the phone bigger then its already is
