Weird text message from +1047600000 on T-mobile Curve

Has anyone else received a text message from +10476000000? The body of the message is "n:m=3=2." I called T-Mobile tech support and the person said it was a network problem. She cleared the message que (or something like that), and basically reset my BIS service. But I am still getting those messages (and have been for the 2 days I have had the Curve). What's also strange with those messages is all of the old ones aren't on my phone anymore and I didn't delete them. It's almost like the time sent is just updated on the same message, thereby, creating a new message (if that makes any sense).

I started tracking the time received on these messages since yesterday afternoon: 3:03pm, 4:24pm, 9:14pm, 4:04am, 6:56am <--- the last one I received (just for comparison, it is 8:07am).

Has anyone else heard of this before? Thanks.

Do you have yahoo email? This seems to be the issue. I was having that problem so I forwarded my yahoo mail to my blackberry address and the weird messages have stopped.

Yes I do have Yahoo email, but the messages started before I even had my Yahoo Mail pushed (or pulled) to my phone. They started almost right out of the box.

Update: After calling T-Mobile tech support three times, I got a trouble ticket and apparently my problem was sent the the Advanced Tech Support dept and I was told that it will be looked at by an engineer. I will try and keep this thread updated, in case someone else down the road has the same problem I have and tries to do a search on a resolution.

After following painpour's advice, the text messages stopped. However, I started getting a large amount of spam email - apparently because the email forwarded to my blackberry address from yahoo was unfiltered. I didn't get all of the spam (I guess BIS email servers did an ok job filtering), but I did get enough to irritate me.

I was bothered soo much by the spam that I deleted my original blackberry address and had all my yahoo mail forwarded to a gmail address that I rarely (if ever) use. Then I have my blackberry pull that gmail address to the device. That solved the problem. Gmail does a very good job filtering the spam.

So no more weird text messages. Apparently it was from the Yahoo Mail and the device.

I was having my Yahoo Mail pulled on my previous device. Maybe that's why it kinda started "out-of-the-box" with the curve. I don't know. I'm just glad it's over - thanks to painpour!
