Give me a reason NOT to buy the 8525

I was faced with the choice in June between the 8525 and the Blackjack. I believe it was the price that did it, but I went with the Blackjack. I'm looking at the features listed on phonescoop, and I don't see a reason why I shouldn't get it and relegate the Blackjack to standby. Voice dialing, WiFi, 2MP camera, touchscreen, better keyboard...the plusses are there and I don't see any minuses.

Does video show in fullscreen? Does voice dialing require an additional program, and does it work over BT?

I understand the Tilt has GPS, but I can't justify the additional cost. I can get a new or refurb 8525 for $100 through Premier, I don't see a Tilt deal that comes anywhere close.

Well, if cost is the only thing holding you back from the tilt, you should check out newegg.com You can get it for $150 from them with 2 year 900min contract. Currently it shows as out of stock, but usually they get more quickly. A friend of mine got a 8525 FREE from newegg a few months ago and is very happy with it. GL

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Two quick questions about that NewEgg deal:

1.) Does that offer apply to upgrades as well?

2.) can you get it if you have a family plan? (I can't stand how ghey some things are when it comes to people on family plans)

I am pretty sure it is only for a new line of service. I wouldn't try to get the phone and then switch it to a different line or plan. If I remember the fine print correctly, this will result in you getting charged $250 from them.

Which is exactly why I can't do it. The $100 price for the 8525 is an upgrade price.

But like I said, the GPS isn't worth the premium.

R u kidding? I jus got my tilt to replace my 8525...I don't regret it at all.

#1. Double the ram and rom....much better at customizing with a number of cab files and also at multitasking then the 8525.

#2. I actually like the camera...the 3.0 megapixel camera uses autofocus to take better pics then my 8525. I miss the flash tho..

#3. The tilting screen helps as I can lay I down on my desk and work while still being to keep my eye on it without having to look on top of the device. the tilted screen keeps me in my seat.

All those things are fantastic. I just don't think they are $200-$300 more fantastic.

agreed...i want a tytn II really bad, but with each new rom or cab file, the 8525 is like a new toy again.

I'm not that crazy about my 8525. I do like the wi-fi, but I don't like the size or weight. I also live in an area that has some places that are fringe. The 8525 is only slightly better than the Blackjack in these areas. When in metro areas, it's great. I'm saying this as a relatively new smartphone user. Take that in consideration when reading this.
