Ok, i have ATT and im not leaving, ever. (I have an iPhone) Yet my wife really likes T-mobile's sidekicks. Unfortunately, we dont have T-mobile in WV. Is it possible to get an unlocked sidekick and put an ATT sim in it? Will the sidekick still have the same features? What do i need to know if i take on this task?

been asked many times

Well now that we got the obligatory "link to the search function" out of the way, maybe we can get some real answers. By the way, i've already searched for answers, and the threads I found were either too vague, or too specific to a certain sidekick device.

Let me be more specific:

1. The sidekick ID, 2, 3, I dont know the difference. from what i gather, it is impossible to do what i want to do with the sidekick3.

2. Sidekick uses a special OS that seems tied to T-mobile, what kind of problems am I looking at if i use it on ATT?

3. I want to keep as many of the general functions of the phone working, IE. the texting, AIM, websurfing, etc. I dont want a sidekick without the sidekick features.

switch to tmobile as it's the only way to have a fully functioning sidekick.

seriously this should be a sticky by now!

edit: i know it's in the FAQ but a stickied "will my sidekick work on other network" title with a big NO!!!! as the only reply .

Just ..a suggestion.

One thing you can do is get an unlocked hiptop3 from suncom,it will work as a phone to text and make calls, but you can't use the data. Its also a better option because a. Tmobile doesn't unlock sidekicks and b. Suncoms hiptop3 has mms unlike the sk3.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.0.9751/204; U; en))

Exactly, did you not read the big bold letters saying READ THIS FIRST!? along with that it has been asked so many times. Maybe some people don't know basic search techniques, and they really are dumb and not lazy like i assume.
