I am worried that I might get the 1.1.2 firmware, is this a valid concern?

Another post stated that the iphones are being shipped direct from china, therefore the 1.1.2 most likely is installed...

I ordered my Iphone on Monday and it was shipped from China. I just received it today so I was wondering if theres a chance that it might have version 1.1.2 already. I can see that the Iphone was made in week 44. Also if I do have 1.1.1 I can still activate/unlock it without any problems (I do have 1.1.1 saved on my computer)?

People the 1.1.2 firmware will be cracked eventually.... why would you cancel? Worse comes to worst you can sell the iPhone on ebay and still get a good amount for it.

I got 3 week 44 phones yesterday from china and they were 1.1.1 so. I wouldnt of canceled that order.

Ok ok I'll re-order... just because today, I forgot the iphone in my car and I thought I had lost it. I felt empty inside, not because of the money, but because I would have to resort back to using my pantech 3c... ugh..

BIG QUESTION:

what company delivers the iphone when using the free shipping? UPS?

the last time I paid for the $10 shipping, the iphone was packaged vey well., It was not UPS though...

I just sold my Iphone yesterday and I already miss it. Do you guys think I can still get a 1.1.1 version if I buy it off apple.com tonight? If it comes with version 1.1.2 I can just take it back to an apple store and get my money back or will I have to send it back?

I think you can, but when you get your confirmation receipt or oder, check the serial and make note of the 4th & 5th digits, if it's before 45, you should be fine because this was the week 1.1.2 was released.

Because the AT&T and Apple stores around me have boxes and boxes of them sitting in the back room. When I bought mine this weekend, i asked for a week 39, and the guy brought out 5 boxes for me to look at to check the S/N.

I got a week 39 too from one of the stores nearby. Unfortunately T-Mobile sucks in my area and I have to go with ATT.

I ordered mine online because it's a 2-hour drive to the Seattle Apple store from here, but it's a 45-minute drive just over the border to a PO Box... I have week 45 coming, so we'll see...

Yea, I should accept the fact that after each new firmware, you can't unlock the new one, but you can roll it back to the previous version.

I was speaking in regard to using 1.1.2 unlocked.

You got your week 46 piece yet? Mine is comming in tomorrow it is a week 46 as well and the it is a 7S746. Hope there is no negative black problem and it's still 1.1.1

I am planning to get the iPhone Saturday. My question is there any advantage to get a certain week which would make it easier to unlock and activate. Since there isn't a version 1.1.2 fix yet (please forgive me if I am wrong), what is the latest model iPhone that I can unlock and activate.

Damn... just got my week 46 iphone today and it comes with firmware 1.1.2. Hope they have an unlock solution soon. Going to check for dead pixel and negative black today.
