T-Mobile UK for me in USA?

Hey guys, I live in the United States and am interested in getting service with T-Mobile UK. Does anyone know if this is possible or how I might go about signing up? I tried on www.t-mobile.co.uk however it requires a UK postal code and UK credit card information.

The reason I'm interested is summed up in two words: LG Viewty. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's a good question! and the LG Veiwty looks like an amazing phone.

If the phone is available with prepaid service, that's easy enough to get. I have it and I'm a Canadian. (Great option for data use in the UK, too - 1 pound per day for up to 40 MB.)

Unfortunately for some silly reason they're not liking to put Quad Band in these phones. So since Canada and US use 850Mhz quite a bit, your phone -may- not always / may not work...

Tri-band 900/1800/1900 works well in Canada. It might be a different story in the US though.

All major UK networks subsidize most of handsets that’s why they are restricted to UK residents only and most handset are locked to network.

Only O2 dont lock their phones.

but to buy one it will take a credit check.

Its not on Pay as you yet, so contract is the only way to get it.

I had to ask that MDA phones are related to T- Mobiles?

You would have to move over here before you could get T-Mobiles service,
T-Mobile USA and UK are totally different so NO to your question!

if you have a pal over here they could ship that phone over to you,
but it wouldn't work untill you got the handset unlocked from T-Mobile UK.

I agree to the first part. he needs to live and have credit in the UK to get contract service. However, your statement below is totally false. Tmobile US sim cards work in tmobile UK (Virgin UK also) LOCKED phones, and my virgin UK and tmobile UK sim cards worked in a Tmobile US LOCKED phone. This has been posted in the forums on several occasions.

Yes, they are different companies, but since the have the same parent company, there must be something in their network lock code that allows the phones/sims to be interchangable without needing to unlock the phones.

Thats odd then cos other networks I don't think would allow that unless there handset was actually unlocked.

im a member of Esato,
and have heard a few people who have brought Vodafone mobiles back to there countries then thried there Voda sims in the phone yet they wont work
