i'm looking to buy my g/f a phone for her birthday, and she seemed to like this phone. She won't be getting on the internet and such with it, she likes the looks and the QWERTY keyboard. The killer for me is the 3 hours of talk time. Can i get her a larger battery for the phone? What do yall think about this phone?

The Duo is a PDA phone. The rebates on it will require you to get the 39.99 or better data plan. You do not have to get the plan to use the phone, however, you won't be able to send pictures if you don't get the internet.

That is not quite true. For the Duo you can get the 39.99 data plan or the 19.99 unlimited txt messaging plan.

I don't know if this is true for other phones but it is true for this one.

Those are the rebate conditions of all the Palm and Windows Mobile based PDAs. One could also get one of the PDA data packages instead of either of the others. Getting the unlimited message package could end up costing you more if you also need a data package. The PDA Personal with 20 megabytes of data cost $29.99. Here is the line from the rebate form:

Wow, I wouldn't have believed it unless I didn't see it on the rebate. This is true

Actually if you just have ppu internet you can send pics and won't be charged for use.

I just saw pricing for the holidays, and it looks like they are going to allow unlimited text for rebates on any phone/pda except blackberries to get the rebate.
