Hi, a family member has a Kyocera kx16 Angel that now hangs when booting. It goes through a few seconds of the power-on sequence, then freezes with the amp'd logo displayed in the center and some of the phone's screen icons on the top of the screen. It won't respond to any keypad input; I can only turn off the phone by removing the battery. I reseated the Transflash card; that didn't help. Is there some way I can reset the software to fix it, without disabling its recent ability to connect to the Page Plus (Verizon) network? Thanks.

hi, I had the same problem with the kx18. For me it was that it was trying to find a picture on the t-flash card that didn't exist. It seems if you remove the t-flash card while a wallpaper is being used off of it causes the phone to freeze up when starting. The way I fixed it was I took the battery out, plugged the phone into the charger and pressed the PTT button when the screen displayed phone off. Then press end when it says PTT not available, the idle screen should come up. Dial 111111 select options (right menu button) then find airplane mode, turn it on. The idle screen should come up again, pull the plug. Reset the battery and turn the phone on it will ask u if u want to disable airplane mode, say no. Check to see if a wallpaper or a ringtone from the t-flash card is causing the hangup, if so delete the file from the phone without the t-flash card in the phone. Make sure you *228 program the phone before customizing it. Hope this works.

That fixed it! I didn't delete any files (I could play all ringtones and view wallpapers), but going through the remaining steps seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks a lot!
