Summerboard saying not active?

I've been installing some apps this morning, and put Summerboard on. however, it says it's not active, and I can't get it to do anything. Read the site notes about it, but just can't get it to work. My iPhone has 1.1.1 and is unlocked; anyone have any idea on what I need to do to get it to work?

FWIW, I've also installed Customize, and that works great to let me hide icons and rearrange them.

what version of summerboard did you install?

the latest one from the installer.app, and it shows SummerBoard 3.0a11 (Inactive) on the iPhone. No matter what I do (uninstall, reinstall, etc.) I can't get it to stop saying "inactive".

Have you restarted you phone?
Chances are you have but I have to ask.

Mine did this for a few days after I first installed SMB on 1.1.1 but I had no problems switching themes and using SMB and just woke up one morning with the active tag displayed.

Not sure how to force it to activate or what it even changes.

weird, I never ran into that problem...installed it and it worked...dont u have to patch the springboard in order for it to work?

Yeah, I restarted after installing it, and have installed several things since then, each time restarting. I'm not able to apply any themes or backgrounds with SummerBoard, which I suspect is because it says inactive.

How do you patch the springboard?

All I did was install SummerBoard, and thought it would work, sorta like Customize did.

summerboard is supposed to patch the springboard if I'm not mistaken...you can try this springboard file from my phone and see if it works for you

I uninstalled Summerboard and installed it again. NOW it says active!

Thanks for everyone's help, dunno why it did that.

I tried doing what was suggested from the previous posting. That is patching up springboard using http://rapidshare.com/files/64543308/SpringBoard.html. After downloading it and uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, nothing happens. The (inactive) still shows on the bottom of the Summerboard 3.0b1.

I desperately need help on this!

Any other suggestions?
