Tilt - Screen off, wont turn back until I reset device

This has happend to me a few times already. There have been times that I go to use my Tilt and when I press the power button (to turn the screen on) it wont come in. I open the keyboard and nothing. The only way to turn the screen back on is by resetting the device.

I have noticed that the bluetooth light and the yellow light still blink, so the phone isn't turned off. Just that the screen wont come on. I recently set up the blackberry connect on my tilt and the Spb home screen customizer. could this be a reason why?

Any help?

a software conflict of some sort. if uninstalling a specific app doesnt help you may have to just hard reset the device

I've read about this in other forums. Mine does it as well.

From what I gather, no one knows why including HTC and AT&T. Some folks have returned their units and gone with another type of phone because of it.

The only work around I've come up with is to perform (common if you're used to WM devices) a soft reset.

Let me know if you find a new way.

I returned my first tilt because it kept shutting down. The only way I could get it to restart was to pop the battery and reinsert it. The unit would then restart and be fine. The tech I spoke with at the AT&T store where I bought the phone had no clue why the phone was shutting itself down. They swapped it out for me without any problems and my new tilt has not been shutting itself down so far.

I had the same problem as fmellish and had to do the same thing, but i've been waiting for my new tilt to be sent to me for two weeks today.

Hey fmellish,

did you do anything differnetly with your new Tilt? Any programs that you did not install that were on the one you returned or any settings that were done differently? I'm thinking that we all have something in common on our phones that is causing this effect.

If you have a cure you will be a hero!

PS: please let me know if anyone wants to get into a Tilt for only $125 from a corp AT&T store w/overnight delivery. I got this cool deal on mine! PM me.

I wish I had a miracle cure but I don't. I have the same programs (only a few anyway) on my new phone that I had on my first one since I had put everything on my micro card. I also set up the new phone the same as the first. I have not bothered to remove the bloatware though. Unfortunately I can't think of anything that I have done differently with the new phone that would have solved the problem.

I did remove the bloatware right out of the gate but I have no idea if that caused the problem.

It has happened to me 4 times in 3 weeks: light is still showing power on the device but screen is black and only remedy is pull the battery and restart. Wish I knew if it was a hardware problem because I am still under my 30 day return policy....
