pissed off at vision about 8100

Ok called sprint this morning, actvated the 8100 everythings fine works well. then go to a site to upload the some ringers and pictures. click send and nothing, do it again nothing. call sprint they say they dont know( after the typical troubleshooting tips power off log out..etc) well check account online says nothing about my downloads nothing about vision picture pack nothing. could this be the reason y no text messages or shortmail?can send shortmai lbut cant recieve am logged in adn everything. I think i should just wait like 6 more hours and then try again. anyone else had this problem when they activated a vision handset?. What do u think i shoild do? please help

Leave the phone on, with its antenna erect, overnight. Sometimes the complete Vision provisioning is delayed until overnight.

Actually I had a similar problem on my LG phone. I couldn't download anything or receive any messages, but I could send out messages. Anyway I called sprint and did all the things you mentioned above, but realized that whoever activated my phone actually forgot to provision my account or something like that. I can't remember exactly, but when they fixed that my vision was working.

what do u mean provison my account? everything works... everything so if provision means services activatedthen my accountis provisioned.

Ok, I'm not sure either, but I guess the person who originally activated my account and set me up on vision, didn't send it out I guess. Something like my phone is looking for my vision account but sprint didn't send it out and that's why I couldn't do anything. Like I said, unfortanetly I can't remember the details. Maybe if you can talk to a vision tech support person and tell them how you can send messages but not receive any and something about your phone not being able to find your vision name or account or something like that.

Vision can take up to a day to be completely activated while your phone can start recieving/making calls within 4 hours.

It's amazing how fast it works if you program it correctly, too. I knew someone who sat for a day with their phone off because they didn't put their phone number in both the MDN and MSID fields..

When I first got my phone activated at the sprint store.... they put the phone number in two spots and not one with the comparison number in the other spot... so I had to call sprint customer service and have the guy guide me through a fix....he even gave me my MSL number..... BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS AT THE TIME...... so I didn't write it down, eh... so it took like 8 hours for my talking to be able to work just because they gave me the new number and it worked.
