1.1.2 Jailbreak Software Released

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: GeeK.dLL

Conceited Software/TouchFree has just released its GUI jailbreak. This is the "final bit" that performs the jailbreak after you run OktoPrep in 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2. The Software runs under OS X and Windows, grabs the data off your iPod touch or iPhone, upgrades it with the Jailbreak, installs Installer.app and SSH.app, and reloads it back to your unit. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes and after, you have a fully updated 1.1.2 jailbroken system.

You will need to downgrade to 1.1.1 if you bought a system with 1.1.2 already installed. This is discussed in the README.txt file in the zip and at the this jailbreakme.com webpage. This procedure is only for iTunes-activated iTunes and iPod touches--"hactivated" iPhones need not apply. That's because once you upgrade to 1.1.2, you'll need to be able to have a phone that's activated before running the program.

**** NOTE: PLEASE NOTE THIS METHOD ONLY WORKS ON ITUNES ACTIVATED PHONES OR IPOD TOUCHES ****\

wow
this was the easiest jailbreak do far for me personally.
worked like a charm...
installer is there and everything seem to be working just fine
i didn't even loose any of my data during this process either.

Thank you guys once again.

Going to try that ringtone thing later...

whats the point in upgrading buddy? i mean there arent any bug fixes or anything ,they just fixed the tiff exploit in 1.1.2 so why waste the time? just wondering whats the point of upgrading when all they did is block the tiff exploit.

Posted by: TheChrigel

mine says :Unable to access jarfile jailbreak.jar" in the terminal window. What do i press to start everything?

Then shouldn't they have 2? Since 1.1.2 and the "Bricking" of the iPhones accidently updated to 1.1.2

Posted by: TheChrigel

How can I now install Anysim 1.2?

Posted by: inspector

I read the instructions for this - and
I have a question - if I have a phone activated in Itunes - why would i need to jailbreak it?

I'am a AT&T customer so I just activated it using itunes then installed BSD subsystem and unlocked it then activated it using the lockdownd patched file and now im using t-Mobile and I fixed youtube also. All that needs to be done now is to have a jailbreak activation method that works at the same time like jailbreakme.com.

Note** I don't recommend you update to 1.1.2 yet.

my new iphone is coming form usa by end of this month

i hope it wont have a 1.1.2 in it

my friend will be getting delivery of handset on 15th from apple.com

Posted by: inspector

aaaah....the wait the wait !!!..how long do you guys think it will be before jailbreak is available?

Posted by: wai_lai416

well if you updated to 1.1.2 by accident.. your phone ain't exactly bricked... just downgrade back to 1.0.2 and run apptapp installer and the pacay and then use the anysim 1.2 on it from the elite team ~ at least you'll have a working iphone

Well, this SUX! I installed Oktoprep and updated to 1.1.2 just fine. Dbl clicked on jailnbreak.jar then I get an error message that my iPhone is not connected. HELP! Crapola!

Posted by: mike772

Same problem, I am on a PPC with 10.5 so maybe that is it... I will try a PC next

If you're missing the readline library (i.e. iPhuc doesn't work for you), you can download it here. Extract the zip to your Desktop, then in Terminal, type "sudo cp ~/Desktop/opt/local/lib/libreadline.5.2.dylib /opt/local/lib". You may need to sudo mkdir the /opt/local/lib folder first. Intel Macs only!

Posted by: HelioPause

I downloaded the folder "opt" and thought I placed it in the root drive. Launched the app and still wouldn't work. Futzed around for a minute and then moved the folder. Suddenly all these windows open up and a Terminal window starts going nuts and I see a little window that says "Firmware" updating. Don't have a clue what I did but it worked. Everything seems a little spiffeer. Whew.

Posted by: mike772

I guess none of this works on a PPC then? It should say this somewhere, the only error telling me is "unsupported CPU" when I run iphuc

Intel Macs only. Or Windows of course

Posted by: mike772

Well I actually decompiled the jar file and there is calls for iphuc for PPC included so it should run on PPC!

Now it just fails at connecting to the iPhone (yet the iphuc for ppc connects just fine in terminal) strange, I did run the oktoprep so hopefully its a 10.5 issue, I will try 10.4 tomorrow at work!

EDIT: just tried my PC (had itunes 4 on there so all the updating took a while) get the same error, but I also can't open iTunes, so sick of PC's Im going to unplug it (again) and wait for this to get working for me

Hey,

If this question sounds ridiculously noob, that is cuz i dont know better! So just bare with me for a minute.

So the jailbreak method for 1.1.2 only works for itune-activated phone. In my case, I am planning to drive down to NY from Canada to buy a phone from the store. I am anticipating that the phone will be 1.1.2.

So in that case, is the new purchased iphone considered an "itune-activated" iphone?

Thanks in advance!
Jason

This jailbreak method will not work with an out-of-the-box 1.1.2 phone. Your best bet is to try finding a phone w/ 1.0.2 or 1.1.1

Posted by: bonafidesham

i just came back from buffalo from the weekend and my iphone was 1.1.1 out of the box so i dont think they have the 1.1.2 as of yet
