iMate Ultimate 9502 vs Eten M800

I currently own the HTC TyTN II and find it to be the best and most versatile phone. But after testing out a Toshiba Portege G900 with an impressive high-resolution screen, I am baffled as to why there aren't many high resolution Windows Mobile devices on the market today. While the TyTN II is a very capable device, I also think there should be support for a high resolution screen.

So far there are a couple of Windows Mobile devices that are due to be released: the iMate Ultimate 9502 and the Eten M800.

Both models appear to have comparable features to the TyTN II and also run Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The iMate has a Sidekick-like sliding form factor whereas the Eten resembles the form of the TyTN II but without the tilting screen.

While I think that iMate may have a better track record as far as device quality is concerned, pricing may indeed play a role in my decision.

I just would like to hear everyone else's opinion on both of these phones as they have yet to go public.

Thanks.

Older iMate phones were manufactured by HTC that's why the quality is quite good but I heard the support is terrible. Newer iMate phones are manufactured by some other companies so I'm not so sure about the quality.

Have you heard good things about the Eten smartphone brand?

From what I heard, don't approach the M800 with a ten foot pole. I hear they are having many issues. Just on paper though, I still would not be at all interested in the M800. 64mb of RAM just does not cut it anymore. The 9502 may be my next pda.

Don't all of the newer WM phones in iMates Ultimate line have XGA out? As far as buiild quality goes, iMate does have a bit more of brand recognition, so that could say something about their build quality... But what do I know.

I think only two have xga out. The 9502 only has vga out through composite. Also, I think only the ultimates with xga out have the nvidia gpu. Slightly dissapointing as the 9502 is the one I want but I still love the 9502.

I know build quality used to be really good because they were made by HTC. Now they are split with htc and are using another ODM. From what I've heard though, this ODM is the largest in the buisness (forgot the name), so I would imagine quality should still be very good.

They both have quality issues, and I-mate, well it needs to launch the product for me to believe it exists.

I'd stay away from both of them.
