How to Update to 1.1.1 now that 1.1.2 is out?

If my phone is at 1.0.2 and we check for an update and it says 1.1.2, how do we actually get the 1.1.1 update instead? I have the firmware, but the only method I know is a restore by holding the shift or option key. Is there a way to upgrade vs. restore in itunes? If so can someone please explain.

Also, I understand that Apple closed the tiff exploit in a later release of 1.1.1. Anyone know the safe date of 1.1.1?

Thank much.

Try "Check for Update" while holding the SHIFT key..

Thanks. For some reason it worked that time. Maybe because it said to "check for update" vs. update.

Thanks much.

download 1.1.1 firmware (google it there are a ton of links to it)
save it to desktop
in itunes where it says "check for updates"
hold SHIFT an press it
select the 1.1.1 and hit ok
wait a long time for it to update

Exactly what I was going to say. This works perfectly!
