New Hsc Comp Plan List Of Flaws!

So far this is what we are concerned about:



We no longer get paid on feats., accessories. We don’t get a dime for the wireless opps/ads we close.

We no longer get our 1100.00 –“guarantee/ramp-up” (ok, fine.)

We now have a STORE GOAL which is how we are compensated for our SAME 1100.00 which is NOW “at-risk”. Ex:each rep has a wireline goal of 125.00 , multiply this xamt of reps in the location and that is your store goal.

The sales reps or the managers do not have an SPR on this “goal/125.00” . It is only an incentive to make 200.00. They can hit 5 dsl on the express package and are compensated ZERO for all of that work (not fair to RSC’s *note)
We do a lot of triaging of prospects in the store and pass all of the ops , feats, accessories to the RSC’s currently, without incentives except just a chance to talk about wireline products, in the midst of trying to resolve handset/bill issues, demonstrate the equip./features as well as plans.
If the store DOES NOT hit its goal, we only get our AT RISK "at" the percentage amounting to 80% or above of what it DOES hit.
We now have a “CEILING” on what we can make instead of being paid off of performance (for HSC’s who like to aim for excellence can only make so much) Store managers are asking us to then put our sales (which WE close) in other RSC’s codes, or pass them off to RSC’s since its “just a team-based-goal anyway and HSC’s are capped at 300% multipliers ) ex. You sell 125.00 and get 200.00, 250.00 and get 400.00, 375.00 will get you 600.00 and no matter what you sell above that you WILL NOT make any more.
The BIGGEST CONCERN on the list is the fact that we don’t get paid until it activates and “POSTS”, meaning installed and BILLED! "GULP" . . . There are issues already with the ATT CLARIFY system performing which is used to activate UVERSE. It is noted in the FAQs that the average activation time is 5-7 days but can take up to 20 DAYS!!!!!! So we will not see any of our pay until ATT systems are able to activate the product. There are many factors involved as it is just TO GET something activated and ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF OUR HANDS!
We are also getting six month chargebacks. So, why make us WAIT to get paid UNTIL they activate? They will get the chargeback if it doesn’t activate or cancels within 6 months anyway!
We should be compensated with features and accessories sinsce sales reps and managers are and FEATURES ARE ADVANCED! If we start taking from the reps opps, features, and accessories they will be more motivated to have 1 hand wash the other since they DO have an SPR on those. If they sell wireline for us, then we will pass the $$$ in their checks to them in ops, feats and accessories.


SOLUTION: No cap on individual HSC performance…

Make the at risk off of performance and INCENTIVES off of the STORE GOAL. This way HSC’s that DO NOT perform will be held accountable and SPR can be handled from there. PAY US when the order is CONFIRMED and CHARGE US BACK when it deacts or cancels

Also, HSC's and RSC's will be the same position effective March, and the comp plan will change for everyone Jan 1st. Not to mention the bad news

What the heck is an HSC anyway? You guys have way too many positions...all you need is SALES. Everything else is just a waste of time. RSC, HSC, ARSM, ad nauseum...just a bunch of middle management BS that all corporations seem to have. Agent life is simple...you are a salesman--you handle the same things that all of those acronym positions handle, but you get paid much better and have less BS to deal with (not to mention WAY less quotas and compensation almost never changes that drastically).

I give you guys (and gals) alot of credit for sticking with it...I just know that corporate life isn't for me.

For starters, I really gotta agree with cingman. I have thought about going to core so many times but the way you guys are treated makes me wanna go hug the owner of my agent and thank him. I don't really see why HSC was even made a postion seeing is how so many markets still do not qualify. To make matters worst, you guys are gettin shafted left and right. With that being said, arn't you guys all union? If so then why the F*** are they not doing anything about stuff like this?

As far as the question about the union doing something...what union? The only thing they have done is negotiated cheap healthcare if you ask me. My union rep hasn't been in my store for 2 years.

Well, folks, unless you plan on going to work for someone else just grin and bear. That goes for RSC's as well, because guess what? In Jan there will be another comp plan out and in March they are going to hybridize the position, as in, merge HSC's into Rsc's. The union is worthless, but our contract is almost up so maybe we should hold a meeting, strike and get someone new in there to do the current union's job .

Why don't people go work for somebody else? Seriously, at&t was getting bad when I was let go but now it just seems ridiculous. Sure, the pay is pretty good for the work done but you can find better jobs out there. At&t wants their stores to be filled with 17 year olds working for $7 an hour and they may not know it but their business will suffer because of it.

Remember, things will only get worse. Nobody is going to come along and say "you know, we need to pay our RSC's more and give them better benefits."

Actually as it stands now, they are hybridizing HSC's and RSC's come Jan 08'. It's better to to get used to selling wireline , since wireless is saturated.

wow im glad my market isnt effected by this. something tells me it will hit me later on down the line. we cant even sell wireline in my market.

What kind of union can sit back as the people they represent take a massive paycut? We have a new steward and nobody was even notified.

The worse part about this new structure of compensation, is that is totally discriminatory based on the fact that the HSC position is lateral to the RSC position. The RSC position is paid accordingly to what gross, adds, features and accessories were sold with in the month and commissions are "ADVANCED". The HSC position is paid accordingly to what is "ACTIVE AND BILLED, or POSTED" within that month, therefore, HSC's are paid IN ARREARS. Bogus! It can take up to 20 days for wireline products to "POST" because we are using a third-party system called "REALTIME" !! I have already called ethics on the matter and I recommend that other HSC's do as well, because they aren't even giving us a transitioning perid?? Right before the holidays too! Ethics can be reached at :1-888-552-4171-this is discrimination against ONE retail position and the comp plan changes are DRASTIC and almost impossible to attain because anything into the third week of selling won't even "POST" until the following month. HSC's please stand up and FIGHT!! Unless you dont want to see a commission check next month!! This is coming from a "top performing" HSC!

ALot of people in our market have called ethics. They are currently re-evaluating the HSC comp plan as we speak, but that still hasn't helped the many hard-working reps who aren't going to make even just half of what they are used to making. Solution: Help your RSC's get their DSL's and they will be happy to pass the video off to us being that our accelerator/incentives are based purely off of the media products. I was luck to just make a little over and above my at-risk ..arghh/sighh
