IMAP email questions for Pearl 8130

Hey crowd just wanted to try to get a clear answer to this question before I go and buy this phone. I still have my 700p right now.
Here's what I have... a couple mail servers online that I use IMAP to access from multiple computers / phone. Worked great on my old XV6700, too bad it kept freezing up. The wireless sync is garbage on the 700p, someone can send me an email and i'll recieve it 6-24 hours later. I'm trying to find a way to get real push email from an IMAP server.
I was looking around on http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/...l_on_BlackBerry
at the "Blackberry Mail Connector". Could I theoreticly just have my outlook at home check for mail every 2-5 minutes and then it will shoot the email to my phone? I'm about out of ideas, would rather not change my email address to make this work.
Thanks for any wisdom in advance
Mike

I thought BIS auto pulls from the IMAP server for you already... If you added the IMAP account properly.?

My BB regularly polls my employers exchange server and delivers mail reasonably. I use IMAP with GMail waith similar results.

It works for me. My IMAP/AOL email every single minute!

Okay thanks for your responses, I asked about IMAP at the corporate verizon stores and everyone looked at me like a deer in headlights. As long as it's feasable, in quite a few ways it seems, i think i'll go ahead and get one
Thanks again

Next question:
To use this email and stuff, maybe surf some web, can this be done on their "30/mo blackberry plan" or do I need the 45/mo plan?
I noticed a big discount on the phone is taken if I sign up for the blackberry plan, which is fine with me being that I do the 45/mo now. But if I need to keep going with the 45/mo to do what I need to do, I dont know if I will get that phone discount.

Here is a brief summary of each BB plan:

$30 - BIS service. It will get you internet and email access, and you may be able to pull down corporate mail if your company has OWA.

$45 - BES service. This will allow you to connect to a company's BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which will allow wireless syncing not only of email, but also Outlook contacts, calendar, etc.

Thanks I ended up getting the 30/mo plan, does everything I need it to for personal imap email and internet, even streaming.
However they kinda screwed me on the discount. Since I'm Already a customer of the data plans (had the 45/mo on my Treo), then the discount for signing up for the 30/mo wasn't there. Guess verizon doesn't appreciate current customers, imagine that.
