Has anyone figured out a way to get wap access on a curve or pearl without having BIS provisioned on your account?

I asked about this tonight for my wife's line. According to the rep and the manager, there is no way to have wap access without BIS. I asked if a Media Max plan would work and they said no. Same story from Business CS.

We'll see what happens when it gets here though. I'll try and set up a Media Max plan online.

Id understand if the push email and Blackberry browser don't work without BIS as network traffic is routed through RIM servers. But wap access should be universal. Should be, but probably isn't.

That's the point I raised. I didn't understand the difference either. It could be that the reps are bs-ing me. Like I said, we'll find out in a couple of days when we get the phone.

FYI, I swapped the SIM out and it works with the iPhone plan (I'm assuming it's MediaMax 200?). I don't know what ATT will do though...

You'd need a BB data plan initially to push the service books to your device.
