Hi, all.

I was just wondering why At&T has a seperate phone collection for the pay as you go/go phone plans. They all take Sim cards. So wouldn't i be able to buy any phone i wanted to as long as it took a sim card, or am i truly limited to this TERRIBLE selection of phones? I already bought the Nokia 6102i, but i freakin hate it. I thought maybe they had some sort of way to detect whether or not you were using one of the phones they've alotted for go phone plan, and if you weren't, then it wouldn't work. Was i right?

Post paid and pre paid sims will work in any att/cingular brand phones.

AT&T doesn't care what phone you use for pre-pay. We won't sell a GoPhone on postpay, but only the cheapest of the cheap would want a POS like that on their line in the first place.

If you're within 30 days of purchase, return the Nokia and buy another phone at either the no commit price, or buy a phone from tigerdirect.com, newegg.com or some other trusted web retailer.

They have a large selection of phones now. They even have 3G phones but they are not available unless your ZIP code is in a 3G area. This is what they offer for my ZIP Code of 22043: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...paid-phones.jsp
