V3xx has no 900 MHz GSM?!

I really like the V3xx but it has no 900 MHz GSM capability. Any idea why that was excluded? Seems very strange Moto chose to do that. 1800 MHz only coverage is probably much more limited in Europe.

I see some old threads about there possibly being a quad band version in production. Was that just wishful thinking?

There is supposedly a modded firmware that enables quadband. Check google for v3xx quadband firmware.
As far as why, that was probably cingular's decision, not motorola.

The versions of the Motorola V3xx offered in other countries are also tri-band. The phone is lacking either the 850 MHz or 900 MHz band, depending upon the country. It may offer the 2100 MHz in those countries which use that frequency for 3G.

Its pretty much the same phone but the razr 2 has a bigger lcd on the front and quad band.
