I found a 8g iphone with out a sim but it has a passcode, i put in my sim(t-mobil) from my iphone but cant activate it, itune ask for passcode. with *#307# I get to wifi and use it but jailbreak.com download but dont activate. can anyone help pleaseeeeeeeee.

You know, the person who lost this iPhone that you found would probably love to have there phone back. I would take it in to the police. I know if I lost something that cost $400, I would call them in the hopes that someone would have the decency to turn it in.

restore it...start fresh...if I ever lost a phone I would write it off as gone for good...as most people do...the police arent gonna do nothing except throw it in a locker and when charity auction time rolls around auction it off

1. take it to apple store
2. let them detect the owner by serial number
3. return it

you've to understand one thing: if you've a conscience and are a human both on the inside and the outside, then you'll find ways to return it; if you're conscienceless and a human only on the outside but still a simian on the inside, then, of course, you'll come up with a childish excuse to keep/steal it.

No, an ad would be pointless, but one could put in a little effort...

Look at the information in the phone, call some of the contacts, TRY to find out who lost the phone.

You know he could be just CLAIMING to have found it and actually stole it from someone and is asking us to assist in committing a crime.

It would suck to lose your phone and someone is trying to get it back to you but they can't find out who your contacts are because your phone has a password. Too bad this isn't the case.

The phone is locked via passcode. I don't think you can access contacts. (I think) never tried

Then again can do the call back trick since the firmware is 1.1.1. Search forum to find the code

I also don't think you found it without a sim card. Nice try. Actually, what you can do is call AT&T and give them the IMEI. They can search for the user that way. Another way is to give them that SIM card # that you supposedly wasn't in the phone. On second thoughts, I apologize, someone probably was desperate for a sim card and left the iPhone for someone else.

P.S. Next time, just say you found an iPhone that you don't plan on returning. Save up and buy yourself one.

The police will put it in storage and not attempt to contact the owner. They will just wait and see if the owner comes to claim it at the police station but the owner will probably never think of that.

Im back, to answer everyone,no i dint steal it, i live in brookly n.y if i take to the police they will keep it(better me then them i say) it doesnt have a sim(i think someone stole it and lost it. its a little scrach all around, i found it on the step of the subway. im always on the road i dont have the time to call his contact. i know i didnt do the crime, i just got the evidence.

Call AT&T while on the road... You can still call them :-) ... Give them the IMEI. Problem solved.

Its funny because this guy makes up excuses that hes busy and cant call; yet he can post here on HO FO looking for ways to find the pass code to use it for himself.

Doesn't that seem a little strange. maybe thats just me.

Anyways, isn't there a site dedicated to lost iPhones or something?
send it there, or be a child and keep it, which you probably will and
are doing now. a phone call consists of what 10 mins max to tell them
what you found and where, give a few numbers to them and go on with
life, but no. this isn't the case, you want codes to unlock it to keep for
yourself....
